  1. I was pretty quick to shut off the return pump so I am not sure how much made it in, but it was a mostly full beer in the chamber right before the return. So far no visible negative impact. I thought I lost my rock flower but it appears to have just decided to move to the other side of the rock.
  2. True, but budget for the hobby is what I am looking for. After the down and moving in I am totally fine with a used Marineland or something VS a 750xxl or something. Just think of how much beer I can spill in that!
  3. Update! Everything appears to be alive so far. The lights dont kick on till noon but I see most of my fish (goby has a cave on the back side of the rocks he loves) and the nems and lps appear to be fine! My cyano appears less too though, I am not sure if that is due to the water change or the blasting I was doing on the rocks already. Thank you all for your help and suggestions! The beer was a Hop Valley Alphadelic but I cant find the bottling date on the can, but Winco only stocks the freshest I am sure.
  4. Thanks, I am making new water now, I did not even think about how bad that looks when I posted it. :X
  5. its a 10g sump with about 8-10 lbs of rock in the middle chamber. Do you think the hops and junk will poison the corals? I have turned up the skimmer
  6. I was blasting the rocks with a turkey baster when my foster dog knocked my beer in my sump. How F ed am i? I dont have any carbon on hand but I do have 10g of RO water ready and have turned off the return pump and started heating water to make 5-10g of new water. Is there anything else I can do to save my LPS dom with a few SPS 29g tank?
  7. I love the bonsai racks they have, I might have to set up another small tank for one.
  8. I think I had a Damsel that needed some of that.
  9. Thanks, I would prefer glass but I will keep you in mind! Heck of a deal there.
  10. Thanks! I will PM him and see what he has.
  11. I finally bought a house and its time to upgrade from my home made 30 gallon tank. I am looking to move in to the 120g+ range so I dont have to reinforce my floor yet. Does anyone have a tank sitting around they dont want to look at anymore? I am looking to stay around a few hundred dollars.
  12. I like the aquascaping, and signs of a tank crash or hardware failure. I also like the lighting topic, I keep adjusting the height and intensity but never really know what I am doing till I see issues.
  13. Every sponge that has popped up in my tank eventually disappeared. I would not worry unless it gets real big or you start to notice issues with your corals. Just let it clean your water and die off once it has done its job.
  14. I have had them do that before and I would not really worry. If they fail to stand up, I would remove them though. They are super resilient though. I have a Kenya tree that just appeared in the last couple of months. I have not had any in 2+ years and not added anything new in almost as long. It does seem they like their water a little dirty. Dont worry, if your Kenya dies you can have mine, Its stinging another coral.
  15. I have a green sinularia she can have and a 3 inch(?) kenya tree as well.
  16. I agree with Miles. Looks like a nudi to me but I am no expert.
  17. What about indirect light? I was fighting hair algae really bad, till I took the tank down to move. Its been up a few weeks and starting to see it again. I would hate to have the blinds drawn all the time.
  18. I was having the same problem with cyano, after a move and 75% new water, the slime is gone but the skimmer was blowing the lid off. I had turned it off, but will let it run its course!
