Whats your favorite color spectrum for coral growth?
milesmiles902 replied to HexaReef's topic in General Discussion
I'm a big fan of high blues, medium to low white and very low reds and greens. -

Just like re-using aluminum or iron phosphate, it will lose its efficacy. Although, totally worth a shot.

There are a lot of good aquarium stores in the area. Cuddlefish and Paradise corals are good ones. I am sure there are plenty more up north. If you can make it down to Wilsonville, All things aquarium. One of my personal favorites is The Premium Aquarium in Salem.

The Evergreen State College - Aquariums
milesmiles902 replied to milesmiles902's topic in Tanks for Teachers
Hey everyone, Finally came north to visit The Evergreen State College. Here is their facility and the corals donated. It is located in the basement of Lab I. When I was there, most of this area was storage and a bio-analytical research lab. They had multiple cold saltwater tanks with massive creatures from the deep. They had multiple "touch" pools" for handling creatures. Their back room had a huge saltwater mixing container and multiple phytoplankton starts. Huge backroom sumps. Then their tropical tanks. The bottom one looked solely like an aiptasia culture for the purpose of studying this model organism. The top was pretty much empty, so I put most of the corals in there. It was a cool experience and I'd like to say Thank you to everyone that was involved. Cheers! -
Happy Birthday again! I'm your biggest fan!
