  2. Looks like my/Emerald's posts "crossed in the mail." Thanks for reading my mind and answering my question, Emerald!
  3. Is this different/better than a Mag-Float?
  4. Nice looking tank! Love the rock work. It's going to be fun to watch it progress.
  5. Does anyone have any experience fragging plate corals? I got this one from a friend and resurrected it from the dead. Now it has a bunch of "mouths" but I'm not sure how to frag them. I'm not finding much on the internet about fragging when there are new mouths so if you have a link to point me in the right direction, or have some experience yourself, I would appreciate it.
  6. You guys are messing with my head. I'm not worried...I talked to a VERY reliable source today and he told me exactly what I need to do to grow those zoas. Be afraid. Be very, very afraid. For this month, still at 2 palys, and I've gone from 7 to 9 zoas.
  7. It was nice meeting you today! This tank really looks great. I love those goniopora, and that duncan is a great show piece. Enjoying following your thread.
  8. Now you get to change your "Current tank" signature at the bottom of your posts from 40 to 75 gallons. Yay!
  9. Everyone has there own experiences to draw on, but I have a flame hawk with two pearly jawfish and a maroon clown without problems. Others might have different experiences. In my opinion, making sure you are not over stocking your tank, you feed appropriately, acclimate the fish, and provide lots of nooks and crannies in the rocks, is just as important as what type of fish in many cases. There are exceptions of course, but I think there is more to the compatibility equation than the type of fish.
  10. +1 on the leopard wrasses. I love my flame hawkfish. Bright red with a black stripe. Huge personality. A flame hawkfish would be fine in a 75.
  11. Still available: 3, 5, & 6. Plus this late comer.

  13. Thanks, guys. We already have a generator so that's a good long-term plan. I'm getting a battery inverter for the short-term. I'm also going to look into an APEX system because it sounds like it does quite a bit. Thanks again.

  18. I'm trying to develop a backup plan should their be a power outage. I'd like to know what your plan is, if you have one. How long do your feel your system can run without power? What are your priorities (oxygentation, heat, filtration, etc)? How would you power those priorities (inverter/car battery, inverter/self-contained battery, generator, etc)? For those who have multiple tanks, do you have individual backup plans for each tank? Tips on products or resources? Thanks, all.
  19. Sorry! Nevermind. The sand is still available.
  20. Tank: I've got them both in my 36 gallon bow front with a trickle filter and HOB skimmer. Flow: 2 jebao WP10s Lighting: Ocean Revive 247, 8 hrs of blue and 6 hrs regular. Placement: Both on the bottom front of tank. Dosing: Test KH, Ca weekly and dose 3 x week as needed to keep KH 8.5ish and Ca 400 to 420. Test mg monthly to stay at 1320ish. I keep nitrates at about 3. Salinity at 1.025 pretty religiously. Feeding: LRS every 2 days for fish and nems, dust coral about 3 x week. 7 zoas and 2 palys. I am having an impossible time uploading pics. Literally been working on it 1 1/2 hours. Let's see if this works.
