  1. Welcome! Great to have you here, fill us in on what you are into, what your wanting to get, setup, ect...We like details...lol
  2. WOW...what sweet new additions you got, really nice! I REALLY like that Hammer Coral, very Nice!! Great Pics too!!! Congrats!!
  3. I have a MP10 on my 40 and on full blast it rips pretty good, I can only imagine what two of them would do, I for some reason figured two MP40 along with the seaswirls would produce some really nice flow, your saying you think it could use more flow?
  4. Thanks Everyone for your feedback, While all the guidlines point to them being true Perculas, they don't seem to have as much black on them as I have seen on most Perculas, is that something that maybe comes in with age? Maybe these are young and have not fully developed the full black outlining? I actually like the less black personally, which is why I liked Ocellaris so much, they seem to have less black outlining. Anyway, Thanks everyone for your imput, I will continue to call them Perculas then...that is unless more people vote that they are not even clownfish...lol, then I will call them...
  5. Great pic of the Puffer, thats classic! A FOWLR tank would be fun I think...Cool Tank!
  6. Is that an open Brain Coral in the center (Red Multicolored)...That thing is REALLY cool!
  7. Very Cool, Looks Awesome! I bet there is tons of flow in there, pretty cool!
  8. WOW...Insanely beautiful tank! Im really looking forward to seeing it in person someday, major congrats, truely a beautiful work of art, I love it!
  9. Very Cool, Beautiful tank! Love the Frogspawn pics, I miss having frogspawn. That Coral Beauty is awesome, great pic too! I am curious what others think of running no filter socks, I have been thinking of doing the same thing...It seems I have to change mine quite frequently, I don't know if that is normal or what.
  10. Thats what I have read as well, I count 8 dorsal spines, at least on the one, I will have to try and get some better pics...but I know they don't have 11 or 12...so that would maybe lean more toward them actually being Perculas... Awesome, thanks for the reply, so I guess we did get True Perculas then....I am glad to finally get confirmation, I usually see true perculas that seem to have much darker black outlining around the white bands, these don't have very much black, so I was starting to wonder if they really where perculas... That was me...LOL, I wanted to see the votes without having to click the "view votes" so I voted the third option...so now when I check the thread out it shows the votes....lol Sorry
  11. So Amanda got these two clownfish about 5 months ago, and when she moved her tank to her new 33 long, I took them for my tank. They where purchased as Percula Clownfish but I am not so sure, so I thought I would try and snap a couple of pics and see what everyone thought, do you think these are Percula or Occelaris?
  12. My request is not very fancy, but its what I am looking for at the moment, they are not really that expensive....
  13. Very Cool, Congrats on the new additions, now two picasso's when bred together can make Platinums right? They are basically the visual gene carriers for Platinums am I correct?
  14. I'd be willing to buy the peice of rock that the colony was on, are there any left on the colony rock? If there are a couple left on the rock, would buy the rock to help fund the new colony...just throwing that out there.
  15. I apologize, instead of slapping my hand and not replying I furthered the derailment of this thread, and for that I am sorry. Back to the topic at hand...my apologizes. Keep your chin up Michael7979....Best of luck with whatever you choose.
  16. You just did express your opinion did you not? Just becuase someone replies with thier own opinion or a retort to your opinion doesnt mean your being bashed, everyone has thier own opinions on everything, I guess I am new enough that I am not seeing this radical new direction this forum is going that your talking about. As long as things are civil and don't get out of hand to the point of needing moderation, I have felt very free to express my opinion here, and I know there are people that don't agree with my opinions, but thats cool, doesn't bother me...they are intitled to thier own opinions. Its opinions of a threatening nature that possibly cross the line, again in my opinion, your opinion and comment seems like a threat to the forum, while it is your opinion, you seem to almost urge other sponsor to pack up and leave "if they had the balls" as you put it. How is that in anyway constructive to this forum? Its "opinions" like that, I would deem destructive, and while granted it is your opinion, would fall into unnecessary comments, at least in my opinion...but you are entitled to your own opinion....I guess...lol
  17. I couldn't agree more with this explanation, Frustrated more than discouraged for me too, it seems like a fine line though....lol It might be my expereince level, and with only a year or so under my belt, I have had my fare share of setbacks, and at times I thought I was pretty discouraged, but I kept going. As bad as things get, weither its fish dying, coral dying, something not working, things I can't figure out, I try (and thats the key word "Try") to look at it as a challenge, becuase I am trying to recreate nature in an inclosed box, there is endless possiblities of failure, it can be a very challenging hobby. Everything that has discouraged or frustrated me has almost pushed me to keep going and try and figure out how to make things better, I learn new things every day, and again this might be because I am so new to this hobby. As far as the LFS...I agree, it doesn't say much for your business when you complain, while I do have my opinions on certain LFS, I try and voice my opinions with my money, I can imagine in this economy having a "Hobby" Business, especially one so specialized as with selling only marine fish and corals, it has to be hard, especially with such a high concentration of shops in the area. I try and support as many of them as I can, I am for sure not a high roller, but the shops I do like, I try and hit as much as I can, and try and spend as much as I can, thinking that even though I might not spend a ton, at least I am helping to try and keep thier doors open. Nobody said capitolism was easy, nobody said being a entrepenuer and opening a specialty hobby shop would be easy, You have to adapt to the changes in clientel and the economy. . But as mentioned thats a topic for a whole other new thread....lol
  18. I am very interested too, Is it even legal for a LFS to say what someone else can or cannot sell? I am not quite understanding how one LFS can have that much clout over everyone?
  19. I'm going to prune mine again, if you still can't find any by maybe next weekend, I can bring some down to vancouver for you.
  20. I have the 700gph one setup on a 40 breeder, I really like it, it was easy to setup, fairly quite, I really like it, I am glad I went with this option....Plus they put CANDY in the box!!!!(rock2)(laugh)
  21.
