  1. 33 Longs are awesome tanks, you don't see many of them around, they have the same foot print of a 55 gallon, but cut in half height wise. It would be an awesome frag tank, 55g stands are pretty easy to find as well, unlike the 40b's....Bump for a great deal on a cool sized tank.
  2. I get my heat packs from The Bean Farm, they are good friends of mine, they are in northern washington, so it only takes 1 day to get them. http://beanfarm.com/index.php?cPath=1249
  3. Awesome, It looks really good! How many different kinds of Macro algea do you have in there! That is a pretty cool setup, thanks for posting pics, I was trying to invision what it was going to look like, and I have to say, pretty darn cool!
  4. I have the basic economy 4 stage unit from BRS, it was very easy to hook up, I have it setup in the laundry room and have it comming off the outlet for the washer, it was VERY easy to setup and use. I have been happy with mine. http://www.bulkreefsupply.com/store/75-gpd-ro-di-4-stage-economy-system.html Most of the 5 stage ones either have an extra Carbon or DI that make up the 5th stage right? I figured a 4 stage was better than nothing...
  5. You've never seen the movie "Predator"...with Arnold Schwarzenegger? In the movie the Alien when wounded bleeds NEON green blood....You so have to watch the movie...Its a classic!(rock2)...The name totally fits as it actually looks like Predator's Blood on that coral. Bump for some awsome stuff....I wish I wasn't currently in a 30 day rehab....(sad)
  6. Very Cool, I love progression pics, That Birds Nest has grown ALOT!! Now it will be cool to see it in another year....
  7. I can see how some might not like it, but I don't mind...and least yet...lol I think its funny...
  8. So, I wanted to try one of these urchins out as I have heard great things about them helping control algae, So while I was at Ocean in a Box, I picked one up to give them a try. When I got him home I noticed he had stuck some macro algae to his back, which he had let go of in the bag, so I aclimated him to the new tank, and threw the macro algae in the refugium. Well a few days later, and this morning I awake to this... He found something much cooler to bling himself/herself out with...How about a whole frag of pink zoanthids!!! LOL(laugh) I guess thats a good sign that they are healthy when they pick stuff up, I have yet to see him actually go after the algae, but we will see, they are pretty slow, so I will have to give it some time. Anyway, They are pretty cool...(rock2)
  9. Man that sucks, Best of luck....where you able to get your refugium tank drilled?
  10. So thier weird look orange thing started growing behind a frag of Devils hand in Amandas tank, It looks like some kind of Marco Algae, I was curious if anyone had an idea of what it might be? Its somewhat transparent orange with spots...its really weird... Any Ideas?
  11. I know there are people that seem to have a napoleon complex or they seem to borderline an internet troll ...It seems to happen on any forum....but don't let one person steer you away, don't let them get to you, or they win, I urge you to give this forum another chance...I too am fairly new to this hobby, and this is a great forum for new hobbiests. I would love to see a intro thread from you, what all do you keep? Do you and your son work together on the same tank? There are quite a few people with kids here that share thier hobby with thier kids, I think you will have lots in common with folks here. Welcome!
  12. Awesome! I like it! Great Tank! Cool Video!
  13. Lets see some pics!! What did everyone get? I am curious to see what everyone got and what they look like....Post away everyone!!
  14. There is Empire Reef and Reef Empire...two different people Is he still doing wholesale? I looked up Reef Empire and it says they are out of California???
  15. I have heard good things about BRS Rock, and Reef Cleaners is a Sponsor on here...so I don't think you can go wrong with either one, I guess it comes down to price, I think Reef Cleaners offers free shipping on smaller amounts, but I am not sure. All I know is cycle or cure the rock when you get it, don't do what I did and just put it in your tank with some cured live rock, you might have issues. Some places claim they "pre-cure" thier rock, but If I had to do it all over again, I would cycle it in a tub for a few months prior to putting it in the tank with already cured live rock. I got mine from MarcoRocks, I think most of it is pretty much the same kind of rock, so I would go by price and who offers free shipping, as that can be kinda spendy. Edit....ReefCleaners offers free shipping for orders over 30 lbs....Where BRS you have to spend $175 (about 70 lbs of the Dry Fiji) to get free shipping and BRS is currently out of stock of thier regular rock....So I would go with ReefCleaners if you are wanting to get it now...
  16. I would totally jump on it, but it seems at the moment all I can keep alive is Birds Nest...Its a great deal though, someone will jump on it, Im sure.
  17. Was going to see if anyone was interested in this 40b, 20 long and stand. The stand was custom build and is like a tank, built by my father. I was going to set this up as a frag tank, but the current 40b I have up and running is enough for me.... 40b- $40 20Long - $20 Stand- $125 If you want it all, I would do $150 for all of it, and I will throw in a Eshopps Frag Rack.... I can deliver it to portland area this weekend (depending on my schedule)...
  18. WOW...That xenia is really blue, I have never seen xenia that blue, beautiful! Tank is look good, great new additions!!
