I was OK with the zoa craze (not willing to pay more than $2/polyp), and the acan craze was kinda neat because all the cool colors that could be found (no more than $10/polyp for me). But chalices... most of them look like baby poop on a nacho chip to me. OOOOH, this one has some peas with the carrots... BLAH! I don't even want to pay $1 per eye, let alone the $40 or $50 per eye that some are going for... LOL dsoz I might have enjoyed chemistry more if my teacher had been this funny!(laugh) Fortunately for me I'm "soooo last year in the saltwater fashion" and am still acan and zoa crazed as well as montiobsessed! I only have one chalice but will likely get more. Looking forward to getting scollified!

I'm new to the hobby but have noticed that too! That chalices seem to be all the rage! What's up with that? I mean some of them are really cool but there is a lot of cool stuff! I find scolly's really fascinating but they are so darn expensive so I don't have one yet! I don't even know what a Lord Howe is.

I saw R-3's thread about his name and thought wouldn't it be nice to know what everyone was thinking (or not thinking) when they came up with their screen name. Some of us (me) didn't really think it through and simply used their old yahoo chatline name not realizing I could have probably gotten away without using the 525. My screen name Emerald525. Emerald is my birthstone and May 25th is my birthday. It has nothing to do with "Emeril" the loud obnoxious cooking guy!

I know he meant tang which is why I said avoid all fish with the name clown except for clownfish.(scratch)

Speaking of that Brad, we are thinking about getting a vortech for the 150 reef tank. We have a seaswirl. would you rec getting one or do you think we would need 2?

I'm not getting anything "clown" except clownfish. I think clown triggers look cool but hear they can be a lot of trouble too. LOL I'm glad I'm not the only one who calls fish "A holes"

That was my experience too. The dendro wouldn't open up until we put it in a shady spot underneath a shelf rock. Now it is doing great! One of my favorite corals.
