  1. We finally caught him! We have had this fish for almost a year and he is very hearty. He has survived 3 tank changes but nips at our sps and lps corals. He also is not getting along with our new black and white female clown because she protects the anemone in his territory. So he has to go. He actually gets along with the other fish and was the first one in the tank. He also does fine with soft corals. He is yours for 25 dollars obo or willing to trade for nice frags or rare zoas or ricordias.
  2. Are they difficult to care for? I don't know anything about them. Beth wants one too!
  3. Very nice tank Brad lots of nice corals. I can't wait until you do the built in.
  4. LOL that commercial really creeps me out.
  5. You should check out Isaac's new shop for corals in Sellwood area (Coral mafia , TMC , TCM or whatever. Reminds me of the Premium Aquarium and you have to call ahead), nice guy, great prices and cute dog! Tim at Westside also has great corals. I like Seahorse for fish. I have never had any problems with fish from there. Had one pair of baby hippo tangs that died 2 weeks later and he gave us a replacement at half price. Otherwise have not had any die.
  6. We noticed when we added the seaswirl to the tank that the corals showed better polyp extension and then the seaswirl broke.(flame) This was the same day that everything else was leaking. Great customer service with the seaswirl by the way they are sending us a new one before we even mail the other one back. I'm a newbie and the birdnest was the first thing we got and it is growing the best. This is an interesting article about acans and other corals.I found helpful. http://www.asira.org/caresheets
  7. Very nice Alex I can't wait to see them in your tank.
  8. clown goby has found a new home.
  9. Can we start another one? I would be interested.
  10. Does pump size really matter? Come see how my magician looks under this lighting. Don't worry I dipped those frags before putting them in your tank.
  11. Very cute! Golden Doodle and Catahoula?
  12. Aw come on! (clap)What's the worse that could happen? Could I really be banned from this site?(enforcer)
  13. Hello all! What I lack in knowledge (lots ), I hope I can make up in humor!:p Again I'm a newbie but continue to make observations in this new and exciting saltwater hobby world. Everyone has been so gracious and helpful so don't take this the wrong way. It's all in fun. I call them pick up lines in the sense that they seem to be conversation starters not that anyone is necessarily hitting on anyone or are they ? 1. What size is your fish tank? 2. You wanna see my vortech? 3. Seaswirl (scratch)hmmm not going there.... 4. What kind of fish do you have? 5. Can I interest you in a free leather coral? 6. Would you like to see my tank? I said top 10 but thought I would let anyone who wants to complete the list...
  14. (laugh) I'm happy to see the soap thread made it back
  15. You guys really should get out of your "man caves" (hidesbehindsofa) and breathe the outdoor air again so you will make sense to the rest of us.(nutty)
  16. DOH!Free usually goes quickly. Got a PM for my clown goby in 15 minutes. I would close this thread now but don't know how. Sorry to the moderators, I just now read that you are not suppossed to link to another website.
  17. I have someone who is coming tomorrow morning to get him. If they flake (why the hell you would flake on a free fish is beyond me). Mooving fast you are next in line. I guess you weren't "mooving fast" enough (laugh)
  18. So we got this cute little yellow clown goby with a lot of personality and spunk! Frank tells us we should get rid of him because when he sits on the hard corals he damages them and this does seem to be the case. There are a few white spots on one of the green slimer acropora. So I don't want to risk tissue necrosis so he is someone's for free. He does well with softies and would perch on our xenia when we had him in the nano tank. He's great for nanotanks and gets along well with other fishes. No picture but follow this link and this is exactly what he looks like: http://www.reefkeeping.com/issues/2002-10/hcs3/images/9-08-02_yellow_clown_goby_3SM.jpg
  19. I saw this on craig's list and wanted to pass this along to the rest of the group. It's not mine and it's not me giving it away so don't pm me! Free is just a nice price and wanted to share it with the forum. http://portland.craigslist.org/mlt/zip/1634416688.html
  20. Very nice selection. The corn snake is beautiful (I assume it's the orange red and yellow). Reptiles can be difficult to care for. These guys look well loved!
  21. Thanks for the nice deals on the Sunset and Rainbow. They are really nice frags! Chalice still available people! And... I hear he will make you a good deal on a devil's finger!
  22. Very cute guys! The basenji get's my vote for funniest picture!
  23. So this week in my excursions in the saltwater community, I have noticed that almost everyone I have met is a dog person or animal person. So I wanted to start a new thread to have people post their other pets preferably the air breathing kind. This is Holly a well fed Corgi. This is her obsessing over the heating vent for the past 2 days. My only guess is she dropped a piece of food down there.(laugh) Holly This is Bart. He is our low tech coral security system. Bart
