Some zoa and paly's...some grow really well for me, while others scmelt:( 4 different kinds of palys invaded this corner...luckily the growth was stymied by a barrier of german blue polyp. And this partially why some of my acros have been dying...this one is obvious, but others have been way more sneaky about their attack.

This urchin i added to the refugium to thin things out. Hes doing a nice job...but i just always have to look twice before sticking my hand in there:) This ninja star is weird, but really beautiful.

Sad to report that alot of my acros are not doing so well:) Trying to work through it thing by thing...but probably have lost 50% of acros . All non acros are growing fine(as long as they don't get caught in the shade too long! Some things have never looked better, so it really chaps my hide. Newish bulbs Alk 9 Ca 400-420 Nitrates 0 - actually I just ordered a new Nitrate kit, so we'll see PO4 0 Temp stable No visible pests :wife: :wife: :wife: :wife:

funny you mention that! I use a 5 gallon jug, but I just slide the feed tube a little further down every few days...that way if it does fail it won't be epic. I have been tempted to just remove the 2nd return pump and install the second switch in there...I wonder if anyone has modded this tank with just the one return...maybe keep the powerhead runnin on the bottom so that the water keeps moving...

You could just get a super nice 80" LED from Costco, mount it in wall, and then live stream some aquarium feeds.

These mushrooms are actually orange in person, iphone photography and led lights are a point of much frustration in my life...oh and strawberry crabs:( Which on another note strawberry crabs to me sound like some tropical disease...and just a week ago it sounded like something delicious and beautiful. ok, strawberry crab has been evicted! Put a fireshrimp in tonight and the crab grabbed right on! luckily I was able to grab the crab in time, but he did rip one of the fire shrimps claws off...shrimp is pretty stressed out, wouldnt be surprised if he doesn't make it. I should have known better...strwberry crab = bad! And here is mr feisty...ready for adoption! he was fine with my firefish...he prefers shrimp!

Just set up an ato and stop doing water changes...should keep your maintenance to zero...heck, i'll offer to come help scrape your glass every couple weeks...i hate fire sales!

No water changes here...for about 2 years...Nitrates less that 2ppm, PO4 ranges from 2-10. I feed frozen once a day(3 cubes), I have 12 fish including angels and tangs, and a monster cleanup crew. Refugium does quite well...dose aminos and trace bi-weekly. I'm not an acropora king by any means, but all other SPS does very well. My acros have suffered bacause of the mojanos that have moved in to my tank.
