  1. It all depends on how much you want to spend, If your not to concerned on looks and depending on radius of curve, you can use mesh netting ordered from BRS and a standard Frame Kit from Home Depot (order online) for $20. I went this option on my JBJ 30 with rounded corners and I think it looks fine. Otherwise there are a couple companies that build custom lids for all types of Tanks but those get much more expensive. you can get one for $115 here -> http://artfullyacrylic.3dcartstores.com/JBJ-Nano-Cube-28-ClearView-Lid_p_1938.html
  2. Those AI lights are long out of Warranty, I'm sure you could pop it open and take a look and possibly see whats going on. They are pretty basic when it comes to taking them apart. Otherwise Keep an eye on Reef2Reef & Nano-Reef. The Sol's typically still go for about $125 as many others are looking for them, just saw 3 of them sell for $400 yesterday on Reef2Reef. This guy is selling one for $160 with Controller https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/fuge-light-aquamaxx-skimmer-ai-sol-jbj-frag-tank.335112/
  3. If setup, it can be controlled remotely from anywhere from the Revogi app that controls all their Smart products.

Difficult to say to be honest, They range from a Light Pink on the Front to a Dark Purple and Yellow to White on the Back, though the Black Stripe Down the Middle will be there. It makes me wonder if these color ranges should be considered different genesis's, but apart from slight color variation they all look the same.

[language filter], how many names has this fish been given? Its in its juvenile stage as of now, when it grows and changes you will see why they call it a SplitLevel, but Coral Hogfish is also a name used for it too.
  6. Those are some extremely ridiculous deals on Vertex! Too bad they don't have the Same for Bubble King Skimmers & Red Dragon Pumps!
  7. Are you not going to the Holiday Party? If Not I'm headed up & would be willing to pick them up from you if Kim is cool with that.
  8. This has been a Great All in One Tank, some upgrades have been made and in so I have decided to package it all together. The Tank comes with a Custom Light Hanger that was setup for 24" T5 Fixtures but can do LED's (Built by Spectra), the Return Pumps were both upgraded to Cobalt MaxiJets 1200 (Silent), A Magnafuge is included for growing Cheato, as well I upgraded the default Media baskets To an InTank Media Basket and Floss holder. $350.00

@Emerald525 I think its a splitlevel hogfish (forgot an "l")
  10. The description states you need an Ethernet Cable to hook up the adapter in which I would suspect it plugs into the v1/v2 & v3/v4 ports like the Kessils but from the pictures the adapters look like I/O adapters? Interesting...
  11. The new system I got that Scott build is a Herbie, give me a call & I'll explain it to you, otherwise we were supposed to get together this month sometimes, I'll bring the beer and chips this time
  12. Looks Good man! Les rock structure more flow possible
  13. Your favorite Scapes use the 5/3 rule, there was actually an article describing the entire theory in Jun-Aug issue of Coral Magazine this year. I was thinking about getting as close to it as possible with my new build.
  14. +1 always get the strongest one, easier to keep on the glass and the more force it uses when scrubbing coraline.
  15. Running a Filter Sock right? That should clear it up pretty quickly!
  16. That's a Ridiculous!!!! Anyone looking for a 150 Starfire, that is a hell of a deal!
  17. I would suggest this as well, but also Keep in Mind Powder Coated metal can rust as well so its always good to ensure you are wiping down the metal after spills and cleaning it up. Since it is a Metal Stand I don't know what it looks like or if there is some sort of cabinet around it or not, but consider easy to remove panels or a skin so you can easily remove for cleaning
  18. This typically should be enough for maintaining a great looking Nano, as biological filtration is extremely effective when not pushing the bio-load, though when Bubble Algae is introduced to a tank its no longer a matter of prevention, but control. Bad husbandry does not lead to bubble algae, not inspecting corals and frags, or lack of quarantine does.
  19. Lets just give it a few years before we see that episode of "Hoarders" staring Jeremy
  20. Bubble Algae is evil! Eradicating it is nearly impossible, A little bit in the tank adds to biodiversity, a lot of is a nuisance. Bubble algae can spread extremely quickly if ideal water conditions provide. The test you did NOT list is your phosphates, the one that could give us the best indication as to what is going on. Something in the tank is feeding that bubble algae and your only hope of bringing it down to manageable proportions relys on you finding the root cause. Do you have a sandbed? if so when was the last time you pulled it an replaced it in a massive nutrient export? What type of Filtration do you have on this tank? What is the phosphates at? The nasty thing in having a nano like that is that you can't have Tangs to pick at it and help in ridding you of the pest, but on the positive note its less rock and coral to have to clean. I would personally spend a day going after it hand picking every piece you can get at and ensure you are using the scalpel to scrape all the remains off the rocks, removing every bit you see, pay extra attention to coral bases & Skeletons (Bubble algae thrives there). Followed by removing your sandbed and sucking up all the crap in a 50% water change. After that continue to monitor daily, removing any bit you see begin to grow while looking for the source of extra nutrients. You can can Emerald Crabs to assist in knocking some of it down but don't set your expectations high. There is no miracle tonic, snake oil, or dip that will solve this issue, as well ignore the anecdotal experience of others to avoid "popping" the bubbles in fear of releasing spores, that type of mentality is your damned if you do and your damned if you don't, and will not assist you with this. Just get in there and expect allot of manual maintenance, and if your filtration is lacking it may be better to stick with a bare bottom. Good Luck! one last thing to this line you posted "I've read elsewhere that bubble algae doesn't need an influx of them to grow" You are correct it does not need an influx, it just needs a source of food. Excess nutrients are what feed them.
  21. no surprises there at all. That's the exact reason I stopped purchasing Kent, when my 12 Gallon nano had a rapid drop in Alkalinity. Tested out a fresh mixed bucket at 3 ~ 4 dkH. I would think they would begin to implement better quality testing, it just takes a quick search on google or Reef Central and you will see this has been a known issue over the years, but needles as Jeff pointed out test "Every" batch you mix.
  22. I think @xmas_one has a point here. What are the Parameters and you really should get a phosphate test. The other thing I'm wondering is what kind of flow is in this tank, over the last year what corals are growing and which ones aren't?
  23. exactly what i was thinking the photo looks to be a cold water tank
