  1. i have a sixline in my refugium that you could have for $10. just note, the reason it's in my refugium is because it doesn't play well with other wrasses.
  2. this is a good idea, i would have 30 minutes of time for a group of people to stop by but hosting a meeting for approximately 2 hours wouldn't work.
  3. love the potters wrasse, i would add one but i think my christmas wrasse would harass it and they hard enough to keep without another fish messing with them.
  4. i'd offer but i have too much going on this month.
  5. i agree on what works for you. icecap 660 can run (4) 4' bulbs.
  6. now that looks like a great T5 bulb combo. very nice colors!
  7. great looking skimmer. IMO great skimmers cost good money and are worth every penny.
  8. Updates! Clown Tang was removed due to aggression issues. Crosshatch Trigger was added for a couple months and then removed cause I really do like Tangs more. Added a Coral Beauty, Vlamingi, Blue and Yellow Tang plus a Mystery Wrasse. I think the fish got velvet and I lost the Mystery wrasse, pair of Lyretail Anthias, Atlantic Blue Tang in the refugium and a Chevron Tang that was in the frag tank. Not sure what fish I added that had it cause the last fish I added before I saw any signs of it was a Cleaner Wrasse. Now for some pics. I only have time to post a few.
  9. thanks for the purple cap, as always you have great corals. i've got lots of purple cap frags if anyone is interested.
  10. if it's the icepcap ballast he bought from me than i can say i used it less than 4 months and i bought it from someone on RC "new". the person i got it from on RC claimed he never used it and he had bought it new.
  11. WOW, that's amazing. How long did you have it in the RO/DI water, I assume that it was fresh water?
  12. yeah, i don't think any tang would be happy in a 25g tank. lawnmower blenny is the way to go.
  13. yeah me too, they are easy to get close to for taking a picture but I didn't see very many.
  14. We went to Kona for 6 days because my sister-in-law was doing Ironman. We snorkeled everyday and my sister-in-law had an underwater camera that she let me borrow. here are some pics of what we saw while snorkeling.
  15. the first light fixture you posted is definitely overkill for a 55g but you could use it on a larger tank like a 4' long 120g. when i buy equipment for this hobby i try to take into consideration if the equipment would work on a larger tank because in the future you might want to upgrade. i do agree that you should get T5 with MH vs power compact with MH or a minimum of a 6 bulb t5 fixture with individual reflectors like Mick suggested.
  16. IMO get rid of the Sailfin and Blue(hippo) when they get bigger, not full size. full size for a sailfin and a blue is like 12" and that would just be ridicluous to have (2) 12" fish in a 90. The Purple and bristletooth don't get as large and should be fine. I have heard that Purple tangs can get aggressive that might be a problem in the future. i have a 400g tank with a sailfin, yellow, blue(hippo) and vlamingi tangs and i will not add anymore tangs cause I believe this gives them all plenty of room to grow. i believe it's healthier to give the tangs room to grow rather than to have to remove fish when they outgrow the tank. that's just my opinion.
  17. what do you consider low alk, just curious?
  18. go with glass if you can afford it but a 300g glass is going to weigh a lot.
