  1. This will do the trick, just need to wait for it to come back in stock... thanks for the sourcing assistance y'all.
  2. Yep, something like those, but 5/8" ID. I appreciate the keywords to search. Ideally I want to incorporate quick disconnects like I have on my Pax Bellum, but the sizes are wrong (1/2") and they don't have a GHT connector. Grainger has polysulphone QD's but that is a hard place to walk into and actually hold something to visualize if it will work.
  3. I can buy these fittings for cheap at Ace or HD but I don't like the metal screws.
  4. Looking for a solution like this, but not metal:
  5. Hello all. I am looking at ways to temporarily transport water from my RO reservoir to my new tank for the foreseeable future and could use some input. At some point the room behind my tank wall will become a fish room and all RO will relocate there, but I need to do some electrical before I can do that. I am going to use a Sicce ultrazero in my RO reservoir to push water to my topoff reservoir about 15 feet away as needed. The pump has a 3/4" garden hose male output. I prefer to avoid brass around the water, even though it is only a minute or two it will be submerged and am looking for anyones' experience using polysulphonate or polypropolene fittings or quick disconnect fittings. I used these for brewing to keep metal away from the wort, and figure they would function the same for this application unless there is a reliable more accessible option. I figure on attaching these to the end of a potable water line from the RV store as I think my usual go-to of silicone tubing will be too flimsy for a run of this length. TIA.
  6. perfect place to house a giant clown tang, I always wanted one but they are twerps and get too big. Vlamingi are also cool, but they get up to like 2' so likely not a good fit, even for an 8' tank. let us know what you find!
  7. This is why we can’t have nice shrimps: ”Did somebody say shrimp!?!?!”
  8. i will try to go if im not flooding my basement, pouring water into my eb832, or dropping my phone in the skimmate cup - I knocked all those tasks out this afternoon though in like 15 seconds so should be good to go.
  9. I had forgotten some of the cool hydnos came from Fiji, there were a few that looked interesting in the video. Thanks for sharing all!
  10. Ace has it as well Here is a link to a reefstable article with a live link to amazon https://reefstable.com/blog/how-to-dip-coral
  11. I'm still not seeing anything online, any sightings?
  12. Any chance you could advise on a kit for seeding a new tank with the appropriate cultures? Currently my tank (about 160 gallons total volume) is relatively unpopulated, but I would be happy to pick up a few things that would be a good addition to a new tank, and thought you might have a suggestion.
  13. Older articles (2018ish) about them that I was reading a few months ago said that there are several similar looking species that were making it into the trade and that may be the cause of dramatically different levels of aggression and diet. If Biota has the right ones I would be much more inclined to try one. It also seems they can get 4 or 5 inches long which is quite large for a blenny. I also read they may not play nicely with the standard lawnmower, and I can’t get rid of ole Wilford, we have had him for several years and my wife would miss those eyebrows… Would love some recent feedback if anyone scores one.
  14. That sucks big time, you had a really nice system going 😞
  15. I inquired about one of these recently, sounded like that are difficult to source.
  16. Here is a good overall intro to medications from HumbleFish: and here is a thread with equipment info: https://humble.fish/community/index.php?threads/quarantine.2/
  17. Sort of like being a blazers fan, but with less success.
  18. I cheered while wearing my Cal Bears autographed Goff jersey... there was no bad result for me.
  19. After getting a chance to talk to @LavenderTi and a few others about quarantine practices, I was inspired to look at my own process. My plan was to stop "rolling the dice" and actually get serious about mid-term housing for fish and corals, and I thought this might be a good topic for discussion. Currently I dip corals in Polyp Labs Reef Primer, I like this as it is in little pre-measured bottles so mixing it up is easy. For smoothies I use a light lugol's solution (30 drops instead of 40). For fish I have been using Safety-stop which is a two step formalyn and methylene product. Really though, I have no excuse not to set up a couple of 10-20 gallon tanks with basic filtration and lighting to allow for a longer quarantine period. After doing some reading and video watching, I have a concept of how to simply implement separate coral and fish quarantine systems in my home, but I was hoping to learn from all of you what your processes and setups look like if you have a more robust system. I really liked the write up and parts list that @obrien.david.j put together, and thought producing a similar super basic setup that most people could follow for a basic quarantine process could be of value to a lot of folks. I saw first hand the insane damage an infection can wreak in just a week in another member's tank, and I don't want to experience that myself, nor see any other reefers go through it. If people choose not to quarantine that is on them, but I think we can carefully remove the informational barriers if we group think this! The news of a new acro eating nudi make me more than a little nervous in trading corals... What are your systems, your process, your reasons, your excuses, and your experience with supermax housing for your reef?
  20. Certainly! https://www.aqualifestudio.com/product-page/extension-for-ecotech-marine-vortech-mp10-40-quietdrive-pumps
  21. Here is the extension cable for MP10/MP40 if it helps consolidate all of the drivers into one place for easier emergency power. The company making them is Aqua Life Studio and they have a good video on how to make the connection. This is also helpful for wire routing through control boards as the drivers are attached on the smaller models. You can also find them on Amazon, but I prefer to shop with the builder whenever possible Thanks again for the demo, I have been wanting to build a larger battery bank for emergencies and a visual walkthrough of the project is helpful.
  22. We need to breathe less at meetings it seems. My record in the basement when entertaining was 3400, everyone had headaches and we were starting to fall asleep during board game day. Not bad for 5 people over about 6 hours!
  23. This is an exceptional price, someone should take note of this!
