  1. I was trying to show someone the site and noticed this, hopefully they can get it resolved!
  2. Less than 1/2” for sure if desired. The Adaptive boards are 1/2” expanded pvc which is nice as you can attach things with wood screws - I am not sure they would get solid purchase in something thinner. i ran starboard in my 125 bare bottom years ago and it was pretty heavy, that was probably 1/2” or so. I think our cutting boards at work are around 3/8” which are not unwieldy.
  3. Personally I would note the +/- in sharpie on the back of the checker and then manually make that change whenever i run a test. I don't trust myself to remember those variations.
  4. I may need to science this a bit. IKEA goods still in shrink, it may not be too late!
  5. Yep, gotta get the correct one - I order the wrong reagents half the time and now have like 500 tests for the other checker that have gone out of date...
  6. The ones I have seen are a glossy white plastic, brittle and didn't seem like they could be drilled or cut easily - but it has been nearly 10 years since I checked. HD doesn't list the material, I should investigate though. I avoided getting boards for the inside of the stand as I didn't want salt spray to damage them, but maybe someone is making exactly what I was hoping for!
  7. My wife suggested we could cut them to size when we were at IKEA but I am afraid of water intrusion as you suggested. I only got 4 panels to play with, one for the inside of each door and one for the side of the tank. We have the standard pegboard in the garage, will compare once we start working with them. The main feature is they have a smooth black finish that I believe will match the stand pretty well, nicely rounded corners, and some helpful accessories that are proprietary. I wanted to get the bungee straps but they did not have them in a matching color in stock... I hope to run a grid along the back side that cords can pass through to help wrangle the wires. Will need to stop back in and pick these up at a later time. Ideally someone would make these out of PVC like the Adaptive Reef controller boards so they could be drilled and sanded.
  8. These bad boys, they make them for each checker, just make sure you get the right one for the checker you are using
  9. Has anyone used the skadis system for reef organization, either in their sumps or in their fish rooms? I am going to be adding the system in to help with organization and am looking for photos or stl files that might be useful. I would like to use the boards to hold equipment controllers/drivers as well as for cord management, but the unique hole shapes mean either bolting things onto the boards with machine screws, using command strips, or 3D printing some custom brackets and cradles. if you have used these and don’t mind sharing your experience that would be awesome. TIA
  10. Should we bring our own tobasco and lemon wedges for the facility tour?
  11. I don’t know what this, and at this point I’m afraid to ask.
  12. Keenly interested, though I work in the evening - will see if I can sneak out and see the facility!
  13. I will take this off your hands Micah, I plan to replumb my system in the future for color matching purposes!
  14. Fantastic, will message you shortly, on a work call atm.
  15. Looking awesome. It was great to meet you at the shop on Saturday!
  16. Hello all. I have been watching a series of long format BRS videos with Lou Ekus from Tropic Marin, and have also watched an interview with Marc Levinson. To be honest I have never really looked into the Tropic Marin line, and was only aware of the bad press they got over a salt batch. What I have appreciated from his interviews, albeit he is selling things, is that he does some pretty in depth answers to reef chemistry questions. Some of the methods he discusses make sense to me, and I find myself wanting to look into the line more and more - specifically balling part c, trace a, trace k, and all-for-reef. Does anyone have any experience with Tropic Marin and have feedback on what they liked or disliked? Here is one of the videos I watched yesterday for reference, this guy has given a lot of MACNA talks and other lectures as well. TIA
  17. Soaking now, it will be cleaned to my standards, which is basically brand new. The COR 15 is not the stand alone version (that is the COR 20), you will need an Apex to use this. It It is a great return pump - completely controllable via Fusion. Buy it as your return, or as a backup if you already have one. 18. Just decommissioned my Nyos 120 skimmer from the old tank. Skimmer worked nicely for a RSR 170 and a RSR 350 but was too small for the new tank. Very quiet for an AC pump, very easy to dial in. It is very well maintained, and I cleaned it like I wanted to use it myself. Let me know if your tank is this skimmer's next home. 19. after buying a slide for my XR15 yesterday, I found a good deal on a G4 XR30 today and now need to buy a slide for that. the good news is I will have an XR15 available soon with a slide for it 😛
  20. Also, snagged a nice little colony with some serious prospects… here it is in all its glory basking the the light of my bathroom vanity getting dipped.
  21. Well, we can’t appreciate each others’ work without seeing how much worse things can look right? finally moved everything into one tank today and it is a disaster zone! All the fish are figuring out who is in charge and where they are going to sleep, and all the frags have been moved over. i am curious what mortality I will experience over the next week, some of the corals in my collection do not want to be disturbed. Tomorrow will be wire management, moving the dosing equipment and Trident, and there will be some more rock tweaking, I have a dozen pieces in the sump that I need to play with before 50+ frags and colonies get planted. Also need to map my PAR around the tank. Thanks for looking, and give me a week before you start laughing too hard! Here is a full tank shot so y’all can be overwhelmed by the chaos and not look too close at any one thing!
  22. Yep, planning to ditch those and use plastic versions. I usually use ear clamps around the house but I don’t like those in submerged applications, though I believe they make stainless versions.
  23. I am also thinking I might go stainless steel as an option, and use plastic hose clamps to hold the tubing on. For short immersion periods, just a few minutes at a time, this might be viable? Again, works in the brewing world... The nice part is I can use 3/4" ID hose with this for faster liquid transfer, I just don't think I trust the worm thread hose clamps and more than metal screws.
