  1. couple pix got a good photo tonight at the winter season ticket holder party... probably will use it for the christmas card. and speaking of the gorilla, took this photo a couple weeks back that i was especially proud of given the ultra slow speed of my camera... that is miles he is pwning at the memphis game anyone gonna be at the pacers game? maybe we can meet for a beer?
  2. yeah smeggy saved a fistfull of dollars. i totally misread ninga btw. if i buy 5 memberships, can you guarantee r3 gets called whale for a year?
  3. IME these are VERY hard to frag!!!! You should also look for GSP and some of the weed growing montiporas, caps and digis come to mind. They are easy to grow under t5, and are easily fraggable. If you get some caps, you can do the cool checkerboard pattern and let them grow into one piece, fun for students.
  4. buy a 29 gallon tank, show them the reciept, then return the 29 for a 40, they won't know the difference.
  5. if you go 1911 get the kimber with trace grips!!!! otherwise i would recommend the springfield xdm45 acrylic lets you do cold water, not sure if that will ever be of interest to you.
  6. Got several pm's, thanks for your help John.
  7. Highly recommend them. FWIW I have hundreds of the brand new 2009 seafood watch pocket cards if someone wants to grab some for a meeting. My company triple shipped them to me. Even with 1100 students to give them out to, I have several hundred left over. PM me if interested, I can mail them to someone.
  8. call a few dealerships and see if they offer weekly rentals, several around here do.
  9. If it moves North, you may consider the new Foothills Park in Lake Oswego. Open kitchen, dogs ok, shade, bathrooms etc. power available, amphitheater seating, sweeping river views...close to freeway, not sure what else you are looking for, but it is on the SW side of Portland so it may help with your Salem and Eugene folks. There isn't a specific web site for it yet, but there is ample free parking and it has very good access for everyone. If someone is interested in the park and checking it out for this or any future event, PM me and I can meet you there and walk you through the amenities. It is likely the best city park you will find amywhere if LO works. ** edit: nevermind, there is a significant rental fee for this park. Here is a link with the info, but probably way out of budget http://www.ci.oswego.or.us/parksrec/PDFS/ParkRes/Foothillsappforuse.pdf
  10. drill it with a masonry bit and use nylon threaded rod and nuts to bolt it together.
  11. Did you purchase your solana locally? if so, please pm me the shop that stocks them.
  12. thanks for the pics! replying to pm right now.
  13. Sorry, having connectivity issues in the new apartment. The dimensions of the sump are 18.5X18.5X16.5(high) There is a 3/4" bulkhead for a return pump. The sump is divided in half, designed to have a built in refugium, but I never ran it in that capacity. Hope that helps.
  14. Unfortunately I do not have any photos of the whole setup, but i have some closeups of a couple things that i took while it was running. Here is a shot of the tank its self, it did indeed sustain life! here is what the de pendant looks like (this is in another canopy) which is mounted in a hanging pendant made of wood that matches the stand. I did not mention that it comes with all of the hanging hardware, all you need is some hooks to put into the ceiling. here is a shot showing the sump, as well as an idea of how the tank was setup before i went with an all hob system. As for why, I had a return pump overheat and nuke my tank, decided to simply remove that variable from the equation. here is what the skimmer looks like hanging off the back of the tank, it can be hung on the sump of someone wanted (borrowed this image from google images) I hope that helps, if you are still interested i can try to get over to where the setup is stored and get some more photos this week. also, want to add that i have a 100 gpd ro/di unit with recently changed cartridges... willing to sell it for 50 bucks including an inline tds meter, or will sell it in with the tank for 25.00. Also have a cpr overflow box (cpr cs100) including a air pump to keep it primed that i will sell for 50 bucks, or will throw in for 25.00 if anyone buys the entire system. that would make it 800 for a near turnkey 30 gallon system.
  15. i can try to get some measurements on it today, need to find a tape measure in the boxes, but it is designed to fit underneath the cube, probably about 20X20X16 or so. and yeah, if you are interested i can part that out. i will get back to you tonight
  16. A recent move has forced me to tear down my last tank, the new apartment just doesn't allow them. I am posting all of this up on RC, but figured a few people may be around that remember what some of this stuff looked like, and may be interested. I have available a 30 gallon oceanic cube tank, with professionally built acrylic sump (it was not using the sump most recently, everything was hob, but sump is available) that i am selling for $100.00 Nice light wood stand and hanging canopy (includes hanging hardware) built by a PNWMAS member (it is high end furniture grade with lots of clearcoat) available for 200.00 I paid 400 for the above listed stuff when I bought the system used, and it was a good deal at that price. Also available is a 250 watt hqi blueline ballast, pendant, and a couple of used, but still fully functional phoenix bulbs. I will part out the components at 125 for the ballast, 75 for the pendant with bulbs, or 175 for the whole rig. I have some small 28 watt actinic pc bulbs and a dual balast, with reflectors will let that setup for for 40. Buy all the lights and you can have it all for 200 even. Selling a Deltec mce600 hob skimmer with outflow upgrade for 400 shipped on RC, for a local buyer to save the hassle of shipping i would do 350. With shipping and the mod they are about 525 new. I have a koralia 1 powerhead, probably not worth buying on its own, but I would sell it for 30 shipped, it only has about 2 month's use on it. buy it with anything else for 25. i have a lot of salt, if you are buying something from me, i will throw some in for free. If my math holds, that about 875 for the whole setup, anyone who has ever seen any of my setups knows that i don't tend to skimp on components, and anyone buying this setup is going to be getting pretty much the best of the best. I will sell the entire setup to someone locally for 750, any less than that and I am going to wait for it to part out either here or on RC. No rocks, no fish, no corals, already have distributed all of that, all thats left is the drygoods. they are sitting in my old apartment now, and will be there until Saturday this week, at which point theyt are going to get boxed up and held until they get shipped. Thanks for looking R1
