That's a great addition!
Kids, businesses, responsibilities, places to go, life happens
You forgot to add "cats" to this list. Trust me, they should be there.

I have a 12" wide DIY model. I love mine. It pulls sooo much stuff out of the water. You do not want to be smelling the wet rolls. I need to tweak my design a bit, sometimes the paper gets bound up or the motor is strong enough when the roll gets to big. That is the price you pay with DIY. I spent $40 for a roller mat thay can handle 4,000 gph turn over.
Would be curious to see that project.

Hey all, just wanted to give some props to Gumby (Jim) for his frag sale over the weekend. It was a pleasure to get to see his amazing display tank and hear about his upgrade plans as well as take advantage of some killer coral deals. Super generous and gracious guy if you haven't met him. I still can't believe some of the zoas I came home with (and didn't even go there for those).
Thanks again man! @Gumby

Next on my list is Vibrio. I have a pretty potent and specific anti-Vibrio compound that I've been testing as a dip with mixed success. But I think based on the safety and efficacy data from these cipro trials its time to test the anti-Vibrio compound on intact systems.
Really interested in how this goes given what my biome results looked like during my multi-crash cycle! Thanks for all the great work Eli!

This is a great idea! Hope it catches on.

Awesome news! Now if I could only find the time...

mine has never worked properly. angled, upside down, right side up, wires together, wires seperated. I solved it by building a system with around 800 gallons of water. Hard to change the salinity with that much water.
Yeah, mine worked fine for quite a while then decided to just start bouncing between two values above and below the actual value. Good times...

Likewise Sean! It's been too long, I've just been busy with my own school and being a teacher for our children during all this. Good memory though! I was a big fan of that series. I had the 24" and the 48". Now that the Hydra's have stopped dying repeatedly they're working nicely for me too though.
Glad I wasn't completely making that up. In fact, I now remember thinking about buying your old ones off you but couldn't quite figure out how to optimize the coverage on my tank. Good to hear the Hydras finally settled in - you had some crazy bad luck with those initially. Glad you are hanging in there!
Sorry for the mini hijack @Manny Tavan Just having a bit of "old home" week here 😀

I'm here. The Photon V2 is a great light that I would heavily recommend.
Hey man - good to "see" you! I thought I remembered that correctly but don't trust myself these days...

So the company emailed back within 12 hours. Since my light is out of warranty I have to pay for replacement part but they are sending me a new LED board that I would need to install myself. It’s $200. Will give that a try
Cheaper than new lights that's for sure!

Well that is a major bummer. Had been looking at those before going with the Reefi. I think Greg @youcallmenny may have run the Photons but not sure he’s on here much.

Ugh you've had the worst luck... I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you!
Thanks Jamie - me too! Just took some macro pics of the new additions yesterday and you could see polyp extension on all the SPS frags so hoping things turned a corner. Had a few false rebounds though so keeping my enthusiasm in check for now 😀 Hope I get to see the new setup some day... seems like things are kicking into gear.

Looks like he Jumped towards the netting, got gills stuck in 1/2" netting holes (new netting already ordered), and then twisted his tail up/through another hole trying to get out. Sad, I hadn't seen him for ~two weeks. Was wondering if he had died. Only to find he Was fine, but dead now. 😞
Sounds about right. Bummer. Good luck with the new netting.
