  1. Found these guys on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/New-70-Watt-HQI-DE-Metal-Halide-Aquarium-Lamp-Bulb_W0QQitemZ220526324057QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item335864a959 For $15.03 shipped for a pair of em it was worth trying out. I'm sure anything at this point would look better than my 2 year old bulbs (nono)
  2. I have just about 20 gallons of water total in my sump, 10 of which is refugium, and I have 15 gallon display tank. I've always loved having display fuge's. Soon as I move into a place of my own ( hopefully before this summer) I'll definately have a 2 tank system on a single sump. Been debating on a back to back peninsula style setup out of acrylic.
  3. I have only one 7 polyp frag of these $8. You can have a free frag of clavularia when you come by PM me for meeting up.
  4. I dumped it in my yard on a couple of weeds to see what the long term effects would be over the summer and it killed the heck out the one I kept dumping it on, but I have fairly liquid skimmate too.
  5. My Tank is 15 gallon display with a Yashia goby, Geometric Pygmy Hawk, and a sixline wrasse, and I still wish I had gotten smaller fish (laugh) I have about 30 gallons of sump on the system so I may get more fish still, but I think I'd go smaller like a group of small gobies like the trimmas or something.
  6. If I had the money this is what I'd spend it on. (drooler) Flaming Prawn Goby
  7. They had a nice looking little goby down at World of Wet Pets for like 12 bucks. Almost got him but he was a little small and I worried my Yasha would thrash him. Looked like a Trimma, similar to this:
  8. I remember at the store I worked at in Eugene I used to write up bogus receipts for a guy that didnt want his wife to know how much he was spending. LoL, the customer is always right (laugh)
  9. See now you got me thinking.......... I have a couple cans of black pond spray sitting in my garage from a terrarium build I never did. I have at least a couple square feet of egg crate sitting out there too. My tank is a 15 gallon that measures 24x12x12. I could probably gain quite a bit of usable space by adding in shelves to the backing on either side of the overflow. Hmmm. Think I could make a couple 8x12 pieces using a single can?
  10. Sent you a PM, I got a good sized colony now that originally hitch hiked in on some frags I got from Dsoz last year. Got 3 or 4 frags ready to roll. I'll post up some pics as soon as my camera charges.
  11. If your land lord is iffy about a larger tank size, go with the 29 for the "display" tank and build yourself an extra roomy stand. Then plumb in your sump, fuge, skimmer, whatever else and add your self in an extra tank underneath. Use it for frags, you'll need it
  12. Make sure and adjust the ph of the water, when you fresh water dip you are really just wanting to do a no salinity dip.
  13. Been a while since I could afford anything new for the tank, and since I can afford new stuff I figured I should get some more snails/hermits/emerald crabs/peppermint shrimp and then look for more frags (clap) So who's seen the best deals on clean up crews?
  14. If you have room in your sump I'd do the fuge down there. Less risk, more room for macro algae.
  15. Real nice guy (clap) Thanks for letting me and the kiddo eye ball everything today, payday cannot come soon enough..... West Side is right on the way to my wifes work so I'll be visiting her on my day off more often(laugh)
  16. Let me know if any of those make their way up to the Portland/Beaverton area, I'd love to have some again. Good to know there is still a thriving supply of them in Eugene (clap) If any one remembers Gary ( big hawaiian guy from Pet Time), him and I used to wait in the store after we closed when we worked there for those things to come out at night so we could catch em. They sure are a pain in the butt to pry off if u dont catch em by suprise. (laugh)
  17. Keyholes are the ones with the black mantel all the way around them right? I used to have tons of them in one of my old systems. I'm pretty sure if you talk to anyone that lives in the eugene area with an established tank they will have some. I used to give em out to people when they bought frags from my house, and anyone who bought liverock from my old system down there surely has some.
  18. I got a Netgear wireless router chilling in the closet if u want it. Lemme know and I can swing it by after work.
  19. I originally had a much larger skimmer in there and it was kind of overkill. Then when I added the SCWD valve I had to move the bubble trap forward to make room for the return line. So I ended up going with a smaller skimmer and it really does fit like it was made for it (laugh) I kind of wish I would have kept the hard plumbed ball valve on the original return line that you had set up in there, but I just couldn't get it to fit in there with the scwd. Water changes are still pretty easy with the amount of room in stand. (Btw the stand is also really well made, nice job) I just drop one of my other pumps into the sump and pump it out, then fill it back up.
