  1. If your gonna toss em, toss em my way
  2. So generally though with that setup you dont get very much water coming out of the small hole though right? Since water will take the path of least resistance it should be coming almost completely out of the larger output of the return, right? And if you drill it so it is barely below the water line you shouldn't get any air being pulled in making the hole act like a venturi, right?
  3. I was beginning to think that Frank pulled a mission impossible pygmy hawk swap out of my tank(laugh)(laugh)(laugh)
  4. YEEEEESSSSS ITS ALLLLLIVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Saw the little bugger chilling this morning by my frogspawn(clap) I guess I can let my pistol shrimp off the hook now(laugh) I still cant believe he hid that well for almost 3 days in a 15 gallon tank without being seen.
  5. Yeah I was gonne do the small hole if I couldn't find a reliable check valve.
  6. Looking for something that I can plumb in line with 3/4 inch tubing into my return line to stop the siphon when my pump turns off. Hopefully with barb fittings. Anyone know where to go to get one?
  7. Yeah I think I may hold out on feeding for a day or two to get him nice and hungry then feed em. Hopefully he'll come out then.
  8. Yeah I haven't seem him since I put him in last night. Hopefully he's just being real timid, I'd be super pissed if my pistol shrimp got him(flame) I did put 2 peppermint shrimp in yesterday as well and both of them are still cruising around.
  9. Tank temp during normal non summer months is right on the button at 78. I was going to run a single 70w bulb, but the tank is 24 inches long and I didn't think I would get the light spread I wanted with a single bulb. Plus 2>1 when it comes to the cool factor(laugh) Over the summer when the temp got warm outside, it did alright as long as my A/C was on. But when it got near the 100's outside I floated some 2 liters of ice in the sump on a rotating schedule. I have 3 x 25mm fans mounted in the back of the canopy, I probably should change the configuration but it seems to be working well with all 3 blowing into the canopy. I'd prefer to have more vents to the front of the canopy to allow air to escape, but I just prop it open barely and that works But yeah, on second thought, 2x 150's in there might be a little much(nono) I think I'll probably just convert the power compacts over to T5 actinics and replace the 70 watt bulbs so that they are the same brand. They both are supposed to be 14k bulbs but there is a visable difference in color.
  10. I just happened to swing in and check out Hollywood Aquarium out in Lake oswego today, and lord behold, what did they have? They sure are cute little buggers, kinda hard to spot in the store though, aint that right Frank(laugh)
  11. Anyone locally have any true seagrass' or turtle grass? I think someone posted a really good website to buy it from once but I cant remember.
  12. What do you got going on this weekend? Just so long as I'm not balancing a huge ceiling fan on my head again (laugh) Btw sweet score on that fan(rock2) And yes that's my little yasha, he's been affectionately named " Long Duck Dong" by my fiance
  13. I have more Chaeto in my sump than I could fit in my tank The calurpa was more to have something to root into the substrate to keep my pistol shrimp from pushing all the sand out of the corners of the tank (laugh) Anybody got any true sea grass they want to part with???
  14. I figured I better post this up in here too I ended up adding another 3 inches of height onto the partial hood I got and painted it matching black. I retro fitted 2x70w HQI's and 2x24 50/50 pc bulbs into it. I'm thinking of going to 2x 150w hqi's and T5 actinics instead though. I drilled another hole in the stand for a second return and plumbed a SCWD valve into the system. Made the large sump into a refugium with a 27w powerquad 6500k bulb on the back side of the sump. I managed to squeeze a Coralife superskimmer 125 onto the back of the bubble trap, but it doesnt fit now with the plumbing for the SCWD valve so I'm trading it for a smaller one this weekend. Now for some pics (clap) These are all about 2 months old but still nice. I'll have to get some new growth shots posted soon and some pics of the sump and refugium setup.
  15. Yeah the tank is doing real well. Got it all setup and running. I ended up adding another 3 inches of height onto the partial hood I got from you and painted it matching black. I retro fitted 2x70w HQI's and 2x24 50/50 pc bulbs into it. I'm thinking of going to 2x 150w hqi's and T5 actinics instead though. Now for some pics (clap) These are all about 2 months old but still nice. These are all before I added the SCWSD valve too. I'll have to get some new growth shots posted soon.
  16. I got mine from Frank he has a ton, nice stuff. If you need any more I have a ton now too (laugh) I'd love to get some frags of those zoos (drooler)
  17. LOL we should do a group buy on pygmy hawks, maybe we could get a price break on 4 or more (laugh)
  18. Anybody know of any stores locally that have a Geometric Pygmy Hawkfish? I've been looking for a while and just cant seem to find one. (sad)
  19. I have a Coralife super skimmer 125 with the needle wheel pump. Works awesome, but is too large for me to use with on my sump now that I added my scwd valve. I'm looking to trade for a smaller skimmer. My total tank volume including sump is only about 35-40 gallons so the 125 was a little over kill anyways. Anyone in the area needing to upgrade your skimmer here's your chance Or trade for some killer zoa frags (naughty)
  20. Whats the dimensions on that bad boy?
  21. (clap)Wow Very Cool(clap) I think that may be the way I go on my next tank. MORE PICS !!!(rock2)
  22. I've really been puting off replacing my 50/50 bulbs with actinics to suppliment my 2 70 watt halides. Just wondering if anyone has some laying around for cheap or has a suggestion on where to get em for a decent price? Anyone seen em local? Or should I just get em online? thanks
  23. This is the place I go with my buddies. Browns Camp Quarry
