  1. Lol, before I even read the whole post I was going to suggest Silver Falls. I've been down there 3-4 times in the last couple years (clap) I love that place.
  2. I wanted to get 4 or 5 of the jugs to hold the majority of the water, and then I'll probably use the buckets I have to put the livestock and the rest of the water in. I think the total system holds a little over 35 gallons with displacement. Shoot me a PM with prices on the jugs
  3. I think thats right on. I got 3 frags of the confusa from Frank awhile back and they are doing awesome, they have the same green base with brown polyps and purple growth rim. Not my colony but this is what it looks like:
  4. I have to move the whole system by the end of the month, so I will probably do just that. I went and checked on the tank today and the sixline has then pretty well cleaned up. There are a few areas on the rocks still pretty heavy with them, but a good siphon and water change during the move should take care of them. Nothing in the tank seems to be affected by them, accept maybe the corraline growth in certain places because they would cover an area of rock completely and no light would come through  They are the light brown colored flatworms with an orange spot on them, similar to this:
  5. I was thinking about getting one of those also, I'm just impatient and wanted to walk into a store buy it and go home. (laugh)
  6. I remember seeing these sold somewhere a while back, they were a simple water proof mat or pad with a little bit of cushion to protect wood floors. Anyone use something like this on their wood floors?
  7. Things are good I'm in the process of moving into a house from my tiny apartment, the fish tank and the terrarium are the last things there. So hopefully this weekend I'll have it all taken care of.
  8. Looking to buy some 5 gallon water jugs. I have a couple of them, and I know I've seen them at one of the LFS, I just cant remember which one (scratch) I'm looking for the clear ones with the screw on cap, that are square with a handle on top. Like this: If any one has some they want to part with, or knows which LFS has them please let me know. thanks,
  9. Ended up getting a 6 line wrasse, he's now been in the tank since 1/31. The number of flatworms is slowly declining, but not a significant difference yet. Should I also use flatworm extract? Or go the more natural route with a velvet nudibranch?
  10. I always had the best luck with my bangais when I kept the breeding pair in a good sized refugium plumbed off of my main tank display. That way the babys could prey on anything that was in there right out the gates.
  11. Are there any tell tale signs of a eunice worm? I noticed I have some type of burrowing worm in one of my rocks, I notice these 1 inch segments of compacted rock and sand outside of some of the holes in my rock.
  12. Anyone have experience with what varietys of wrasse will munch on flatworms?
  13. Sweet scores Frank(rock2) I gotta come check out the frag tank some time
  14. I have weird nack for winning raffles, strangely enough. When I was at the Club BBQ this summer I won a $1500 airsoft gun at a raffle in Hillsboro that I wasn't even at and had only entered 1 ticket into.
  15. I'll bring along a collection of whatever frags are loose in the tank, and some macro algae from the fuge.
  16. Hey Frank if you need a frag tank you can always keep your frags over in my tank (naughty)
  17. When you selling off your livestock? I make it down to Eugene probably once a month at least to visit my parents.
  18. Yeah I haven't decided really on the wrasse. I was also thinking of a 4 line. My main concern is size, since the main tank is only 15 gallons. I know most fairy wrasses dont get too large , but the other concern is price. Also I've seen a few of the small brown flatworms in the tank and thought I'd nip it in the bud before they get out of control.
  19. I've been thinking about getting a 6 line wrasse, or a wrasse of similar size and temperment as a final fish for my system. Problem is, I'll have to justify it as a steal of a deal to the wife since moneys tight.(wife) So who has seen the best deals on 6 lines, and where'd you see em? Anyone wanna trade me one for some zoanthid or paly frags
  20. I bought a 27 watt powerquad desk lamp from home depot for under $20. 6500k bulb. I got rid of the base and the attached arm and mounted the bulb, reflector, and shield to the back of my refugium.
  21. The ones I got from you are doing great Frank(clap) They've been opening up and taking little bits of the mixed frozen I was feeding.
  22. So can this Pickling lime be used the same as kalkwasser?
