  1. Dang. I wish I was going to be around for this.(sad) Sounds like a lot of fun! Let me know if this happens again, Ive got a wedding to go to that week(out of state) or I would be down.
  2. Cool pics with the before and after. Its always fun to watch a tank evolve. Keep up the good work!
  3. Uhuru...nothing compared to your set-ups(laugh) but nice enough for the rest of the world:D fishiefish...not sure what upgrade you mean, but I meant pictures;)
  4. I think Mark hit the nail on the head...let the wife help pick what goes in the tank, and the world of saltwater is a much better place(laugh) My daughter does love her tank. As long as you get quality pumps and equipment, most of time, it will be dead silent...another issue with bedroom tanks. Once we rid the tanks of cheap noisy pumps, all of a sudden, the tanks "got more better"! Boy, I need to update pics, too. That tanks looks much better now!
  5. Just adding to the long list of positives for Andy. Shipped me an ato in pristine condition and kept great communication. THANKS!
  6. Ive got about a quart zip-loc bag worth of chaeto overgrowing in my sump. I can divide it if I get more than one response in the next day or two. A frag would be nice, but is by no means required:D pm or respond here. Thanks
  7. Thats strange. Ive never seen an sps do that. Have you tried feeding to check its response? Im assuming all other parameters are in check?

    Koran Angel?

Im looking to get one of these guys, but read they could be problematic. Anyone have experience with this or a similar angel? Are they only safe as a juvenile, or is even that risky? My tank is mostly softies and lps, with a couple sps frags. I also have a foxface, two perc clowns and a bunch of inverts, if that makes a difference. Thanks in advance:D
  9. I have had these guys a few times, but not recently. All i used was an iodine dip and it seemed to work well. I now have somewhat of a QT that all newbies go through. Impur...from what Ive read, and from what I can tell, they are much like zoa eating nudis; once the montis are gone, they eventually starve and die. I have not seen them attack another coral in a tank where I knew they were present.
  10. Interested in your ATO. Ill send you a pm.
  11. Im currently running an rps1000 on my 72 bow. It pulls out some nasty stuff and needs little or no adjustment. Power consumption is minimal, as mine is un-modded. Got it from CRPC in salem at a heck of a deal. Most of his equipment is at cost or close to it, so you may want to give him a call.
  12. Sweet tank. Its looking good! I really enjoy those cube tanks. Where did you get it anyway?
  13. Looking for a possible trade or to purchase some sunset monti. Please pm me if youve got it. Thanks
  14. Its about time you post pics(clap). The tank is looking great, and that light hanger you built is awesome(rock2)!
  15. He said they were Japanese deepwater anthias. This is what they look like. http://phishybusiness.com/livestock/product_info.php?products_id=1231&osCsid=28a89886388e4dd21e3db3822aab471b
  16. If I remember right, aiptasia can be beneficial in a sump for filtration. I dont know how to post links, but there is a good thread on RC(I think) about this. Try to google aiptasia in sumps or something like that. If you really want them gone, any of the above suggestions have worked well for me in the past.
  17. Thanks, Uhuru. Both dogs were rescues. The dobie is from the humane society(thats fun to spell...lol) and the dane was a rescue from a breeder. We are big fans of adoption as opposed to buying from crappy pet stores;) The python was my 3 year old sons ideaDOH!
  18. Cool pets, everyone. Heres our newest addition, 'bobblehead', Bob for short And the brown dobie, Rusty, with the village Idiot, Diesel
  19. If you must know... I was batttling some hair algae in my display, and after adding a larger clean up crew including hermits, urchins, a rabbit and a tang, I decided it wasnt gonna work. tore everything down and had it in bins with powerheads and heaters so I could scrub all the rocks and vaccum the sand. Little did i know, the bin with the fish and all the corals in it had a faulty heater. Lost all my fish, all my sps, and just over half of my lps. The zoos and shrooms came back strong, but that doesnt do much for me. Anyone want to buy some sps skeletons(sad)
  20. My understanding is that co2 is used for calcium reactors to lower the ph enough to dissolve aragonite. I dont think you need co2 for a kalk reactor. Just a sealed container with a pump for circulation and an in and out for your ro/di water. As the water from the ro/di enters the reactor, it mixes some of the kalk in the stirrer and adds in solution on its way out. Timing is important, to be able to control how concentrated your kalk is.
  21. Ive got one you might like. sent you a pm
  22. I agree with everyone so far. A while back I decided to 'rescue' a clown trigger riddled with ich and who knows what else. Had him in qt for a week or so before he finally bit the dust. Thankfully I was able to talk the manager into a massive discount, but when i returned to give an update, I noticed they had another identical fish with the same issues. Never though to bring it to corporates attention, but that would have been the best thing to do. I wasted a half an hour ripping the manager a new one before i finally stormed off. Always unfortunate to see any animal treated that poorly.
