Can you do a system restore to a point when things were still working fine? And then install a different virus program? Was there something wrong with your previous one?

Yes, I've used it before, but it slowed down my computer so much when scanning that I switched to something else. Have you tried to disable/uninstall the virus program to see if the printer acts normal then? Is it just the antivirus, or the suite with the firewall?

I've heard plenty of those stories, too, but so far the crab has been behaving itself. They have such small pincers, it seems almost impossible for them to kill a fish that's not exactly tiny.

What's this one called? It looks exactly like the one and only chalice I have! It's grown quite large by now.

Today, I discovered my Anthias partially eaten on the sand. He was lively and eating yesterday. All other fish (and corals) are fine, and I just tested the water (no ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, pH 8.2, Alk 8.5, SG 1.026, Temp 79). Does this sounds like old age (have had the fish 2.5 years), or a predator? The only suspects would be a larger female sally lightfoot crab, or a pistol shrimp that's been with me for 6 years and is fully grown (I assume). About 3 inches long.

Thanks, everyone! I just put in one of the two Phoenix bulbs from Clay, so I'm all set for a while. The new color temp will take a few days of getting used to. My previous bulb seemed much brighter, though probably only to the human eye. BTW, is it normal for a MH bulb to get cloudy with use? The bulb I took out looks really "milky".

I'm still struggling with high pH, and would really like to double check what my probe is measuring. Does anyone have a portable pH meter that I could borrow for a quick check? The LFS only uses a cheapo test, and they are really hard to read, no matter what. Or does anyone in Eugene have any pH 7 and 9 solution I could borrow until my new set arrives?

Yep, I'm using one in the living room! Runs fairly loud, but humidity is over 70 without, and it has the wonderful side effect of heating the room much cheaper than our heater! During the summer the a/c dehumidifies, so we only run the regular dehumidifier in the colder months. I'm sure it affects evaporation a little, but that's better than growing mold in the house, imo.

Will it ever be not on a weekday night? Or maybe a Thursday?
