  1. Was afraid that would be the answer! For now, I'm trying to glue the rim back on and see how it goes. Also, if I added a second water input, could I feed two tanks from one reactor?
  2. I was just in the process of setting up a calcium reactor for my second tank, but I guess it was old and brittle, and part of the lid broke when I tightened it. Now I'm back to ground zero, and need to diy something else. Question: is it really necessary to have a recirc pump on a reactor for a smaller tank (75G incl. sump), or will it be okay without? I was hoping to use the RO canister I have around to make the reactor.
  3. I have three pokerstar frags for sale: 2 are $25 each 1 is $10, a tiny piece Also gauging interest in Tyree pink-polyped monti and baby-blue-polyped monti. Haven't fragged them yet, but here are pics of the mothers. Not sure how much to ask on these, but probably something like $40 for a 1" frag. Having a heck of a time getting a decent pic done, but I hope you can see the Tyrees okay!
  4. Congratulations! Sweet little girl, and a good weight on her! Enjoy parenthood!
  5. Red bugs, imo! And a ton of them! Do you have any interceptor (dog heartworm med) for treatment?
  6. It's hard to tell, but they could be! What shape are they? Rounded or flat?
  7. I see you found the beginnings of the rainbow monti! And the blueberry cheesecake is a *very* slow grower in comparison!
  8. If you are mainly going for softies and LPS, I don't think you need that much flow. A couple of Koralias should be just fine, in addition to the return pump. In my tank I actually have a hard time finding good real estate for the softer corals that don't like being bashed around by the current!
  9. LMK if you want it for sure. We already have one stop planned in Tigard. Is your work okay with people dropping by?
  10. Yes, there will be more in the future. You can see the other plugs around the edge, where the monti has started encrusting onto them.
  11. About 1x3/4" frag- $20 looks like it's spoken for! Comes from this colony. The piece you'd be getting is marked on the pic. It's just about covered the piece of epoxy and it's ready for a good home! If anyone in the Portland area is interested, I'm going to be there this Saturday.
  12. FYI: I'm in Portland next Saturday, Nov 7th, if anyone from that area wants something, or need to send things to Eugene!
  13. Could you hold on to it until next Saturday? I'd love to give it a new home, and we are in Portland the 7th. What corals are you looking for in trade?
  14. I'll try and get a piece off the poker star in the next few days, Clay, once I get over the worst of this cold!
  15. Ah, nice! Trying not to be jealous and failing miserably...
  16. When it comes to hairier algae, my sally lightfoot has been the best! Beats any emerald crab and hermit I've ever had. They supposedly can turn nasty, though, so I'm watching mine carefully.
  17. It's gorgeous! But mine seems to have a smooth base.
  18. Sounds intriguing! Do you have a good pic of yours? I googled the name and got all sorts of different ones (purple polyps for example).
  19. The first one has a reddish-brown base and almost metallic yellow-green polyps. It's only thumbnail size, so I'm not sure if some of the polyps will change color later or not. And I'm sure glad to know the little orange one is a setosa, though it's so tiny, I'm a bit worried about it! And man, has the weather just turned nasty, here! The rain is coming down like there is no tomorrow!
  20. I tried several times, but it's too small, and when I zoom in, it always comes out shaky.
  21. Thanks! Any guess what kind of monti? All these are really small, and hard to get a good pic of! I hope they all thrive!
  22. Can anyone help me put a name to the following corals (sorry for the bad quality! It's the best I could do!) On the last two pics I'm wondering about the little orangy red frag, and the one on the last pic I don't know if it's a cali tort or an oregon tort.
  23. Wait a while, until your new system has settled and your other fish are all healthy! The theory is that ich can be eradicated by qt all your fish (and treating), and letting the main tank be empty of fish for 6 weeks at least. But it's really easy to bring the ich back in with just about anything you add to your tank (fish, crabs, snails, corals, rock, sand, water etc.).
