  1. Can the light be controlled with an aquarium computer?
  2. So, I just tried to fix my noisy mp10, and am left with the races of the bearings still stuck on the magnet shaft. Does anyone have a quiet mp10 or mp40 for sale for cheap, or an mp10 dry side, before I go and order something? I'm so annoyed! Oh, and if anyone needs some bearings for an mp10, I have some available for cheap!
  3. I have an 48" 8 bulb Tek light, if that's something you are considering. Comes with a bunch of bulbs, some used, some brand new.
  4. Thanks! I think you are a little too far away, though. I'm in Eugene. Forgot to mention my location in the first post.
  5. Looking for something cheap to house a large piece of live rock with orange rics on it. It's been living in my sump, but I need the space for cheato. Something with an led lamp would be great. The rock is about 9x12 inches. Was thinking of a small cube.
  6. Garrett, can you please check your private messages?
  7. I found the exact ballast that was in my 8-bulb Tek light at Home Depot (Eugene, by Fred Meyer) for 40 bucks, just a few weeks ago. The Advance Centium.
  8. Thanks! I'll keep my eye out for some acrylic tanks that would work for my setup. Drilling acrylic is so much less of a headache! I wish Portland were closer. Aqua Serene never seems to have any used equipment.
  9. I'm looking for ideas how to set up a more usable, easier accessible and cleanable sump for my 120G tank. Are there any plans for two connected sumps (one for the skimmer, and the second for the return pump and a refugium), that someone could point me to? I was hoping to set it up so the sumps could be moved in without having to take the middle brace out of the front of the stand. While I'm at it, I'll probably redo the plumbing and just generally redo the 120G. It's been set up for a few years, and things are not as good as they used to be. The summer away has not helped and I'm dealing with algae and aptaisia and lots of soft corals overgrowing the sps.
  10. Just saw this! Sorry you need to leave! Good luck with everything!
  11. Does your gf like jewelry? Gifts are very individual! Personally, I would have always taken a day out and about, doing something fun and adventurous over the jewelry, but then, that's me. *g* Maybe a visit to a winery, or a weekend at the coast?
  12. Got back into the good old USofA yesterday, and am happy to say that most things are still alive in my tanks. Things are a bit messy, and a few corals are resting in peace, but after 2.5 months away, things could be worse. Thanks to everyone who gave advise to my husband and daughter, while I was away! They (and I) very much appreciate the help. My summer was amazing! I'll post a few pics of the places I've been to when I've settled in and have had a chance to organize all the pics, and do some major tank maintenance. No.1 task is trying to catch the murdering b*stard of a Sally lightfoot, who has decimated the fish population in the 120G! Wish me luck!
  13. Thanks for the advice! I'll be gone for over 2 months, though. And after some further checking, the solenoid seems to be fine, but the regulator isn't acting right. The increase/decrease control is doing nothing. I can control the flow with the needlevalve, but am not sure if that's safe. When I unplug the solenoid, it takes about 30 seconds for the flow of CO2 to stop completely, and that's why I first thought the solenoid was bad, too. Does anyone have a clue why a regulator would stop working out of the blue? Edited to add: did some googling, and it sounds like this is a fairly common thing. I guess the regulator can be used without the low pressure gauge (which I probably blew by opening the valve on the cylinder, but having the regulator dial closed). I'll look into replacing the gauge when I get back.
  14. So, this is not good! I just returned from refilling the CO2 before my trip and now the regulator and solenoid are not working! They were perfectly fine before! Maybe I'm just forgetting something stupid, but if not, is there anyone who can loan me a regulator plus solenoid until the end of August? Why do these things always happen at the worst times? If anyone has an idea what could be wrong and what I could do to fix it, please let me know!
  15. If anyone has time tomorrow evening to come over for a tank tutorial...
  16. On Wednesday afternoon, we are heading to Seattle, for me to catch a plane to Toronto, then Reykjavik, Germany and on to the UK. I'll be gone for over two months and hope to still have a tank at the end of August! Thanks to everyone who offered to help my husband and daughter with the tank, if the need arises! I hope you won't have to do anything, but I feel better knowing that back-up is available!
  17. Still have one Appleberry frag available! And more of the orange encrusting monti.
  18. Keep weeding! I have it growing in my 60G cube, and it's great for nitrate reduction (uses up some calcium, though), and I take out a small bucket full every couple of months. Looks kinda nice, but can take over in time, if you don't stay on top of it. Haven't found anything that eats it, so far.
  19. This one was starting to grow all over my frag rack, so I have two frags (about an inch or so each) ready to go. Both are glued to a piece of LR. $20 each Here are some of my "awesome" pictures! I took some with and some without flash, but no matter what, my pics are miserable. I also have three frags of a mostly orange encrusting monti. The large one is $10, the two small are $5 each.
  20. I'm leaving on June 17th, but would really like them to be picked up well before then, if possible.
  21. Just let me know who is coming when, so I can see if I'm home that day!
