I usually just make a slurry of stuff... frozen formula one cube, cyclopeeze, oyster eggs, phyto... whatever I have lying around. Then I squirt 'em with the turkey baster. (laugh)

Hurry up! Now I want to know the recipe for that. Anything with avocados is YUMMY in my book!

Deviled eggs? (devil) Have you checked out All Recipes.com? You can find some good recipes in there... plus you have the added benefit of reading reviews from people who made the chow. You might get some good ideas in there for a side salad dish. Green bean casserole? Something using cranberries might be a nice tie in to the dinner.

I personally believe that we are all adults and should be able to self-moderate. I will step in when necessary, but I would much more rather see members resolve matters on their own rather than having a mod step in and settle the score.

I personally love my Canon XTi. Not happy with the kit lens that came with it though, but I have gotten some decent shots with it. If I were to do it again I would have just bought the body with a better lens. From what I've gathered, it's all about the lens with DSLRs. Definitely do your research. And well loved... just like the Nikon's are well loved. You can't go wrong with either one as far as I'm concerned. Especially if you get a great lens to go with!

We're working on a new system for moderation. Instead of one person deleting a thread, threads will be moved to the moderation forum to be reviewed by all of the mods so it's not just going to be one person making that decision. That way you can yell at... I guess six of us (we have ten mods). As for moderation of single posts in a thread, that is something we need to work on as well so just one person isn't making that decision. We really are trying to make this site a great place for people to come to. We're just encountering some growing pains in the process. And Brandon, if you did a thread like this it wouldn't have been deleted. As long as you discuss your side of the issue calmly (note: don't take any tips from me since I got defensive earlier in this thread) and not have topics that are too over the top (you know I love your whacky topics), your words of wisdom will forever exist on the website. Well, until the server crashes and someone forgets to back everything up.

Yeah, I second that. We used to kill chaeto until we got a daylight CF bulb at WalMart. No problems getting it to grow now! It seems like it's a "Lights of America" light. Jay would know more about the brand if you're interested.

Yep, XM 20ks! They are just nutty blue, I'm still trying to get used to it. But it certainly does make things more colorful. Absolutely no actinics running with those lights. Ah, he didn't say... we went from 4x250 watt XM 10ks to 3x400 watt XM 20ks. The 10ks had something like 96 watts of PC actinics running as well, but when he tore everything apart and sawed into the loft in the garage for easier access to the tank, he didn't put the actinics back in.

Whatever you're willing to do for us, I'm in! Whether it's a more in depth workshop or a presentation at a meeting. Or you could even have the presentation at the meeting and for the rest of us that want more of an in depth discussion, we could stick around while the other people take off. I dunno! I'm just way excited to have someone help me improve my camera skills! (clap)
