    Drilled glass 75g

Excellent job! Now, I just need to get Jay to do the same to the 72 bow that is going to become my new "nano". (laugh)
  2. See, once you get a little of that "valley" rain you crave it. (laugh) We lived in Sisters for a couple years and when we moved to this area I was astounded by the amount of rain. Even though we both grew up in the Willamette Valley, living in Medford and then Sisters for a few years made us forget!
  3. Brilliant idea! rofl I probably will end up selling the Sony. I want to get a 70-300mm zoom lens because I like nature photography. I definitely need a good zoom lens for that! Just gotta talk to Jay about the price to sell the old one for.
  4. I don't get it either. They stole the camera at the last golf tournament along with all the raffle prizes set aside for the golf course sponsoring the Ray's tournament. Apparently the golf course had another tournament today and the camera just "showed up" in the pro shop. Jay said it was someone from the Kiwanis (Ray's and the Kiwanis put on the golf tournament to help the schools together) and told Jay that the camera turned up. It all sounds fishy to me. I'm more inclined to think it was an employee of any of the three establishments. But hey, I got it back... and I was really surprised to see it again!
  5. Guess what Jay brought home today... my Sony DSC-H1. Apparently the golf course had another golf tournament today and the camera was mysteriously left there. All of Jay's pics he took were still on there and a couple of new ones of the perpetrator's garage. Crappy pics, by the way... apparently he had the shakes. So it's cool to have it back... but now I feel a little bad about getting the new camera. Well, okay. The guilt for buying the new precious passed! (whistle) Jay might have someone to sell it to at the store anyhow... the Sony, not my precious! Now I just need a faster computer. Doing preliminary adjustments to the RAW files in the Canon program then tranferring it (and converting to TIFF) to Photoshop takes a ong time! I have to say, I love shooting RAW and being able to adjust the white balance after taking the pic. That is just awesome! (clap)
  6. Okay, instead of a 40 breeder... I wish I would have had the common sense to use the 72 bow for my zoa tank. That's what I'll be doing now! And taking 2 of the 250w halides from the 240 (Jay upgraded to 3x400) for lighting! I am still hoping for a 350 gallon sump though. Hint hint! (laugh)
  7. I really need to get a camp trailer. But I want one of those AirStream(?) ones... the silver tube like guys. They're just neat looking! Oh, hey... you need to PM me those kid's names so I can get Jay to write up that letter for them. I almost forgot! DOH!
  8. Like, totally dude! It's, like, such a drag living in the land of rain! Like, OMG, gag me with a spoon! (laugh)
  9. Happy Birthday!!! (cheer) (dancing) (flower) (yahoo) (party)
  10. Awesome! Jay just upgraded our lights on the 240 from 4x250 XM 10k to 3x400 XM 20k. Hopefully some of our coral that lost some color will color back up like yours did! (clap)
  11. I'll remember that. I want to keep doing them as long as they don't conflict with our club meetings. I think this time we'll go to Florence rather than Tillamook... such a long drive!
  12. Another thumbs up for FWE. I had to use it on my nano thanks to some hitch-hiking flatworms. If you go the chemical route, make very certain that you suck as many of the (censored) as you can because when they die they apparently give off a toxin that isn't good for your tank. Do a water change after the treatment and suck up as many carcasses as you can and run some carbon. At least that's what I did and I had no problems. The only casualties were the FWs. (clap)
  13. Wes was for sure the hardest person to watch. He was truly torn up over the loss of his friend. (sad)
  14. Are you talking about the thumbnails? If that's the case, then it usually pops open in a new window for me. As for the posts with the image tags embedded, then I don't have to download them. But the monstrous sized pics I usually have to scroll across the page to see the entire pic. I'm not sure if I remember correctly, but it seems like the first time I clicked on a thumbnail a pop up opened up asking how to handle the action... ie, download to computer or open. I chose the open option and checked off "remember". However it's phrased. I could be smoking crack though. (laugh)
  15. My entire window in my office is lined with plant starts! I'm very excited, I can't wait until they grow their roots and become Big Plants! (clap) Thanks, again! You like totally rock! (rock2)
  16. Excellent score! As for temp, I keep my nano around 78-79 degrees.
  17. I had a few misty moments. Bindy certainly did great giving her little eulogy. That has to be tough to lose a parent at her age. I don't think I could have gotten up there and given a speech at her age! Jay and I both still can't really watch any of the "Crocodile Hunter" episodes. We're still too sad over Steve dying. (sad)

    Zoos!!!

They're doing good! All open and happy! (clap)

    My 90G

Nice work! I love the pic of your clown! (clap)
  20. You definitely want to go fairly slow with your new tank. Adding too much too fast is a recipe for disaster! Course, I don't practice what I preach because I built up my 20L nano pretty quickly. Course, I had the benefit of stealing rock and water from the 240. (laugh) I'm one of those hobbyists that don't really worry about the bristle worms. I think if you had an overabundance of them, you might have issues. But having a few... they make for good scavengers. The only bad thing about them is if you accidently touch 'em! Six line... love 'em. But some of them are dare devils and like to jump. YMMV of course! Sadly, I've had six-line jerky. If it were me, I'd nix adding the six line and keep your bio-load down. As for rock, just like everyone said... if it's been in the tank for a long time then it's safe to add directly to your tank. We just bought 150 some odd pounds from a reefer getting out of the hobby and had absolutely no issues adding it. No freshwater dips... nothing. Just plug and play. Same goes for my nano, stealing rock from the 240. No problems! Keep asking questions! We're all in this hobby together! (scary)
  21. That's awesome, Ryan! That's a very important cause that needs all the support it can get. (clap)
  22. Now that would keep the kids interested! (clap)
  23. Here's a few pics... wish I did better, but I'm still trying to figure the camera out! (clap) Yeah, and I would have gotten this up sooner, but I've been far too busy stuffing my face with cheese curds! (laugh)
