Yes I have a protein skimmer that works well for me currently. I have heard of this method I believe somewhere as well I will look into it more if you have had good success with it as well. I think you are right about it coming back also.

Hmm I have read about this a good amount and have thought about it I have some nice carpet anemone and a big anemone I really like and I have read it can negatively effect anemones. Is that something you guys have noticed?

I’ve been battling this hair algae for months now. Done pretty much everything I can think of. This tank was restarted from another tank and the rocks were scrubbed clean of hair algae when they were put into here for the first time. Over time it just came back worse. I have tried picking at it almost everyday, water changes, vibrant, foxface and tangs. The water chemistry has never shown more then a 10 reading on my Hanna ULR phosphate and nitrates have never been more then 10 and most of the time they have been very close to 0. If this was your tank would you tear down? And if so would you clean off rock somehow and reuse? It’s some reallly nice Haitian rock I got from woodys I love that I would like to keep and use. Corals grow well in this tank which is the other thing that is weird.... thanks for any input. I know it is really ugly...

Yea I probably am just overthinking it, like they said the particulates don’t seem to have any effect on anything. I’m n going to try to pour all my water change through one of my new filter socks and see if it changes color at the end 👌🏻

Definitely watched that before, I use tropic Marin which they recommend. edit: was thinking it was a different video. That does answer a lot of what I asked but I guess my issue is just that it still worries me that I’m putting this dirty brown stuff into the tank it seems like. But if the consensus is it doesn’t effect anything then I guess I’ll just forget about it haha!

Hello I was just wondering if anyone has any idea why I can’t keep water mixing in my brute 30 gallon can for more then a few days without It getting a gross brownish gunk that collects. I have a heater and 2 strong mixing pumps in this little container and it still gets rather nasty looking way faster then I believe it should. I have soaked in vinegar as well same result. I could just be over thinking it and that gunk doesn’t negatively effect anything but I am wondering what people think I even will take the pumps and heater out and scrub them clean in between water mixing then rinse with rodi before putting back in. Here is an example of when I dip my cup into the water to collect water so I can test with the Hanna meter outside of the container because I don’t want to dip that in there and cause remnants of tank water to get in... what am I doing wrong?

Seems like checking out The Reef Box would be your best bet he has a lot of good ones that fit your description that’s what I would do and am going to do very soon.

I can’t see any pictures under “zoas” then the pictures start showing up at “no name with an interesting pattern” just a heads up may just be my phone but I tried a few things and can’t see them.

I’ve been seeing these become way more popular recently, they are sold out at cuttle fish all the time before any other snails. Any insight into why that is or I guess why you are looking for them specifically?

I have had a lot of success with the bottle trap and it’s so easy to make, you probably have thought of that already though.

No I should’ve, couldn’t find my phone at the time I probably still can tomorrow. They just look like a purple mass kind of and when I poked it with my nail it moved around like I would expect a flatworm/nudibranch to or something.

So I was moving a mushroom in my big tank and noticed some purple flatworm looking things on the mushroom. It doesn’t show any signs of being harmed at all so I am wondering what people’s experiences are with these kinds and in the case they need to come out if flatworm exit would be a good route to go. Thanks for any advice!

I’m not sure what kind of little plastic tubs to use to hold some substrate and one of my loose mushrooms and want to get people’s ideas on some because I’m ocd about what I put in my tank. Anyone have any recommendations on where to get some? Thanks for any input 👌🏻

Just a heads up, I just got a flex arm mount for my new hydra and I cannot get it to hold the light up well at all.... it sags pretty badly and I am having to jerry rig to keep it up straight.

You’re definitely right, I just meant I had tested them within the last week and nothing was out of range or inconsistent or anything sorry I should’ve been more specific. More of just wondering if something specific has caused this to happen to other people’s mushrooms

Anyone got any ideas? Really frustrating these mushrooms are just starting to melt away into white slime Im sure this is a pretty vague question with a vague answer but any ideas helps. Parameters are pretty solid and other mushrooms are growing fine in the tank....

Been seeing a ton of reviews saying the mounts are just super difficult to deal with for the hydras I use the gooseneck on all my ai primes and they have been fine other then some rusting on the part closest to the tank. So I’m curious as to what kind of mount people are using for their hydra 26hd’s or if I should just go with the gooseneck one. Thanks for any tips or information!
