  1. That’s what I thought but the chemiclean didn’t get rid of it....
  2. Love this idea man! Thanks for the cool button scoly last time I was in its looking great 👌🏻
  3. I have been battling this for way too long in my Red Sea reefer.... changed out rodi filters, been running rowaphosin a brs reactor, tried to get a refugium going, lots of water changes but just can’t get it to go away and want to make sure that it is what I think it is which is diatoms and what you would do if this was overrunning your rock and sand. I know it’s a pretty basic question but I’ve tried a lot of things already and just curious if this was your tank at your house what would you do. I thought it was cyano at first because it really does have almost a red hue to it but it just came right back after back to back chemiclean treatments. I just received nopox and am about to give that a try. Thanks for any input hopefully this type of post can help other people who are struggling as well!
  4. I agree with all the above sentiments, I have seen that video and I use tropic Marin which actually was one of the best ones that they tested. I have good flow through my brute bin that’s why I was mainly confused about this brown stuff. I clean it out at least once a week as well which makes it odd to me it does it this much. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Maybe I will never know but just try to wipe down and rinse out as often as possible I think is the best step? Thanks for the input 👌🏻
  5. So I’ve asked a similar question on here before about some white crusty stuff in the mixing container which turned out to be no issue but I’ve been noticing a brown film collecting in the corners and stuff in my brute container. Anything you guys have seen? I’m sure someone has just want to know if it’s something to be worried about or if it’s from the mj pump rusting or something like that 🤷🏻‍♂️ Thanks for any input have a great day!
  6. A little better pic of some of the mushrooms after I moved them into a little shroom box from reefway 👌🏻 I love these guys, the one I traded to flash21 split already too apparently which is cool and mine have split again since the last post.
  7. Yup I have used this and liked it just confused me when some coloration came off of it and was on the sides of my plastic container I soak them in so trying out something else.
  8. Nice I see that on amazon, I will give a few of these options I get a go and see which one I like best thanks again 👌🏻
  9. Just wondering what filter floss people use and from where I’m about to run out so curious if someone has a cheaper or better quality option. Last time I tried the pinky filter floss, it was good but when I soaked one one time in rodi before I put it in there was some pink coloring that came off onto the jug. Not sure what happened there. Thanks for any input!
  10. I definitely have seen my corals being effected by the aptasia. If the flow switches angles and causes the tentacles to touch the coral it will retract. I tend to think of it like with a bubble tip anemone. Some hardier corals can become “immune” to the sting or the anemone stops being aggressive and doesn’t sting the coral because it feels no threat from the coral. That is my opinion on why sometimes it will not effect corals and sometimes it will. For the most part though I have seen my corals get stung and close up so I have to move them away from that part of the rock with the aptasia on it.
  11. Always comin through👌🏻 Going to come check it out today
  12. Does anyone know where I can get some f-aptasia locally or does someone have some they don’t need anymore?
  13. Yea exactly, filefish seem like kind of frail fish too in general. I checked out f aptasia and seems a little too good to be true but you’ve used it and have just left it over the anemone? If so for how long? Thanks I appreciate it 👌🏻. yea my aptasia x definitely gets a big reaction out of the anemone but it still stays attached and isn’t easily siphoned out and I feel like I’m making it worse trying to suck up the almost dead anemones and jacking them up in the water. I have 2 part so that is something I could try as well. Will look into this more thanks for your help!
  14. Nice I appreciate the different looks at methods. I tend to agree actually that most of what I’ve heard shrimps don’t work... I know in my previous comment I said I was trying shrimps but the more I read the more a filefish seems like the answer. The one problem is I don’t think the fish in there currently would get a long so I would have to rehome them and I love the fish in there already... so decisions need to be made. I have been using aptasia X and squirting it in the middle of the anemones each water change and manually removing the pieces of sand that have the aptasia attached to them. This has cleared the sand but rocks still have a bunch. I am curious if anyone else has used aptasia x with success it seems like it takes a while for it to actually kill the anemone like 15 minutes is not enough and the dead anemone is hard to siphon out still after the treatment of aptasia x and you can’t just leave the aptasia x because it will kill other corals it touches so cant get blown around the tank.
  15. Love this idea because they’re cool fish but wouldn’t work well in my little tank unfortunately. I think I will try the shrimp route next time I head to cuttlefish jorge had mentioned that to but it’s obviously hit or miss I just hate shrimps in this tank because I feed corals. Thanks for the input though I’ll see how it works 👌🏻
  16. So I have a good amount of aptasia in my little lagoon tank, what were some successful ways you guys got rid of your issues when it had gotten pretty bad? I know of berghia nudi’s and I was thinking about the fact I have a good sized wrasse that eats like a pig in there should I worry about the wrasse eating the nudi’s too much from what I’ve seen maybe they would just get munched. Thanks for any input 👌🏻
  17. I would not get one if I didn’t have internet connection just my opinion.
