As it says looking to upgrade from my ai prime and see if I can really notice a different I have corals on the edge of my tank that are obviously reaching for light and my light is set plenty high up so just trying something out. Hit me up with closer to new hydra 26 hd’s You have. Also curious as to what type of mounts people are using for these lights as it will be getting mounted onto my 25 lagoon. Thanks for any input!

I have a good amount of other softies so that could be effecting it. I was going to get my reactor set up and running some mixed carbon and gfo so maybe that’ll help. I think I maybe have been letting my salinity fluctuate to much to maybe the auto top off never stops in time in my little 25 lagoon so I have been just turning it on and off manually.

Yea I feel you on that actually just about to post within the next week or so to see if anyone has a hydra hd I can buy to put on this 25 lagoon just gotta figure out which mount I want. But I was kind of more referring to the skirt area it’s like folded up on itself or something it looks like to me.

Curious if anyone knows why zoas would be doing this? Some sort of pest maybe? Appreciate any advice!

Is the second picture a plate coral for sure? Doesn’t look like it to me but I could be wrong looks like a chalice

I had the same exact thing keep happening but in my 45 gallon they will find literally any hole to get through I was sure I had made it “pipefish proof” for them but they found a way. I really love the look of them though they’re such cool fish but I feel your pain!

Yea definitely agree I just can’t see how this one would look that dramatically different when the tank, other than this coral is flourishing🤷🏻‍♂️ It’s been since Sunday actually looking back at it. So maybe there is still hope I guess I’ll wait it out just curious what other people would think

Yea that’s what I was thinking but they open up and look fine for a little and they look nothing like the original picture and you can still see most of the rock where as in his pics you can’t see any that the mushrooms are on. I can’t really get much better of a picture then that though of them that’s right up against the glass. Just my thoughts not trying to make a big deal out of it.

My tank is the top picture where there is mostly rock and the zoanthids he sent me the picture with the acans and the one below it.

Just curious if people think this is the same frag as in the picture. Seems to me it’s not but want to get other people’s opinions on it I’m cool with being wrong! For reference my tank has colonies of healthy mushrooms and higher end mushrooms that are thriving in the tank along with sps so It’s not the tank in my eyes. Also this has been in the tank since last Sunday.

This made me think though I measured my tank with my Hanna temp/salinity probe and it reads 77.9 and my apex temp probe reads 79.2 have you ever tested yours with other temp probes and are you fairly sure the temp probe with the apex is completely accurate? Sorry again about your loss!

I came home to this, I think the fish must have passed and got blown onto the plate coral. Hate seeing fish pass but it was a crazy image to come home too shocked me pretty good!

It could just be caught on there too possibly not growing on there just a thought

I think most people would say to just use new sand I have done it and used a qtr new live sand and then just normal tropic eden the rest of it. It is also easier as well, good luck though should be all fine looks like a good plan.

Definitely will take you up on that if it persists, turning it all the way closed and opening it I think dislodged a big chunk of hair algae and it is working how it should now. Very nice and quiet. Thank you for the help 👌🏻

Yea that might be what I will do. I did the whole turning it all the way closed and now I’m tightening it a little more every 20 minutes or so to get the level right but it seems like it’s the staying at the normal cup shaped overflow level and not going any higher when I tighten it. Out of curiosity is this around the amount of flow you’re seeing down your Red Sea reefer? DEAB5268-3C30-4C3D-B72C-A72CB1050D41.MOV

Another main issue is that I’ve read you’re not supposed to take apart the plumbing a bunch on Red Sea reefers and it is a used tank so I’m nervous about taking it apart and cleaning it.
