  1. They have cable rated for outside use. Can you imagine anything else that could go wrong?
  2. You need to be hardwired to set up the unit and to update it as well. If I were you I would think about pulling a hard wire connection. If not and you have any issues or need to update software, you will have to run a temporary line anyway. You can run the wire from your current router in many ways. I took mine outside and went under a patio and back into the basement, where I installed a router. The connectors and cable can all be purchased at Home depot and assembled by almost anybody.
  3. Bombertech, I have spent my life building homes. The ideal in door humidity is 30 %. Above 50% will result in mildew or mold You state 70-80 % is OK? DID you stay at Holiday Inn Express last night?
  4. Not and get 3000 gph and 40 ft of head. This is a specialized pressure pump and is now about $500 a pop. So it depends on what he is using that type of pump for.
  5. The frictional head loss for the 30 ft. run will be about 5-6 ft. of head. That is the pump I use and it can pump to about 40 ft of head. I would like to see a diagram of your plumbing as I can't see how you can move the pump without two lines. I have that pump in a fish room and it is noisy. I have it on a rubber mat and the 1" outlet and inlet are connected by short lengths of flexible plastic hose to stop vibrations in the pvc pipe. I suspect you could reduce some of the noise with similar flexible connections. It is done all the time in HVAC installations to stop furnace vibrations from traveling down the metal ductwork.
  6. Another option that I use is to not put my main pump on a gfci. I have a 100 xlrt high pressure main pump and it is external and not gfci protected. The risk is not large as the pump is mag drive and the motor is insulated from the water.
  7. There is no reason to ever have a flood. If you have ever seen an AC installation on the second floor of a home you will notice a sheet metal pan with a drain under the unit. Have one made slightly larger than your stand and run the drain through the wall or floor to a safe area for water.
  8. Is there anything else out there that I could dose with no negative impacts?
  9. Has anybody ordered anything from these people? I ordered about $120 worth of items on Dec 27th. I have asked for a shipping date and I get no response to my email. Are they in financial trouble or closing? What gives? Should I cancel the order?????
  10. I decided to make my own and just finished gluing 3 of them together. I still need to glue in the air line and am waiting on mesh fabric from Florida Aqua Farms to cover the outlet. I am going to make a lure that runs off of 120 current so I can control the snagger with my APEX.
  11. For those of us who don't know Portland, that is 7675 Southwest Capitol Highway, Portland, OR 97219 (503) 244-2537
  12. How do you know it was due to purchased bacteria?
  13. What are you saying? If you read my last post, I mentioned logging in and checking the APEX. Please read the posts prior to answering. I know you don't like me, but surely you can find a better reason to annoy me.
  14. After my last post, I had to go and log on to APEX just to be sure.
  15. I am in Denver and my system is in Oregon. I will be gone a week. I have a camera and APEX, but I haven't bothered to check the system since Thursday. You can only worry so much. If its too big a deal I would get out of the hobby.
  16. I recommend against ground probes. A GFCI is a safety device. A ground probe is not and it may increase your risk. If you insist on using one, I would recommend you put it on a switch and turn it off when you have your hands in the water. That way you are protected and you get the supposed advantages of a probe the rest of the time.
  17. I was able to respond this time. Why not earlier?
  18. Not if I can't post. Nobody will be here. It seems to me the ability to respond to posts is a major part of a forum. If you can't do that, why belong?
