After typing out two replies to posts and having them erased, I quit trying. I get a message about my criteria not matching. System sucks

When I log on I get the recent post page and can get nowhere else. I selected Forums several times, but it comes back to recent posts. Fortunately this thread is on the recent posts list.

Have you ever decapsulated brine shrimp eggs or dissolved the shell off of a chicken egg with acid? It does dissolve the calcium portion of the eggs, but the organic parts are left behind. When you want an organic body to dissolve, you generally put lime over it to help decompose the organics. Do you know how deep the acid penetrates?

In the 90's I built several acrylic frag tanks and sumps. I have been running one of the frag tanks and it started leaking last week. I pulled it from the system and repaired it. It still leaks. I am leaving for a week on December 20th and needed to get something quick. I ordered online 1/4 in. glass from Peninsula Glass in Vancouver. I live in The Dalles and my local glass shop wanted $112 vs. the $60 from Peninsula. I picked up the glass Thursday and with one tube of silicon and a bulkhead fitting I already had, I have my replacement 24 gal. frag tank. If you look at the tank on the left in the picture below, it is my remote DSB and it over flows into the frag tank, and the frag tank drains to the sump. I cut up a trash can and put a drain on it to substitute for the old tank until I got this one ready. The trash can is starting to bow out a little. The new tank will go in tomorrow. I want if fully cured.

What is cleaned from the rock? I don't understand why you would want to dissolve some of your rock. How does that help?

There are many commercial rated controllers already out there. The picture below is of a two stage, so you can control both heat and cooling. I used them for years until I bought an APEX. In fact I still have a one and a two stage controller if you have an interest.

Being an older member doesn't make your opinion any better. When I first joined PNWMAS my impression was an organization out of control. I based this assessment on my treatment and a lot of experience in organization building. Now a year later, the club is in even worse shape. Is that the President's fault? Probably not, but out of the original BOD, officers and site staff, how many remain less than 6 months later? Either the current leadership has a plan or they should resign. With the high turnover how can a plan if they have one be implemented. What is the plan? Why do we need our own forum? If Obama lost 2/3 of his cabinet in the first 6 months, would there be a call for change?

Egos run wild. I have had several of my posts removed, the last being about a new sponsor. Membership time is coming and I know there will be at least one less paying member. How many sponsors does a defunct forum need?

I have been using the Eheim since 1996. Hasn't changed much since then but it works very well. I currently have two modded to run from my APEX. You can get them online for about $30. Use it for dry food only. You also should think about a feeding ring or some other device that helps get the food to sink or else it will go out the overflow. I use a plastic funnel cut off.

I would recommend a larger model. I have been without power in a hurricane for 7 days, and I was able to run a Frig, freezer, gas furnace, and the heat and pump on my system.. A few lights help to see as well.

You can run a tank without water. How about being specific about size and frequency?

The "New Post" button works differently. It will sort new posts by the forum you are in but not for all of the forums. Am I the only one encountering this? I liked the old method better as I could see all of the new posts at once.
