Work has been crazy lately and I have really just been letting the tank kinda go on auto pilot. I tend to tinker with things to much so it is probably a good thing I haven't had much time to do anything other than sit back and enjoy the view. I had the camera out tonight, for photos of the growout frag and managed to take some coral shots before lights went out. its amazing how it seems like nothing grows until you look at pictures of the same coral from 2-3 months ago and notice the difference. Yellow has really started to come out on the lemonade everyone loves themselves some clam This I picked up at upscales a couple months ago, cant remember the name. TECO 4th of July ATL shades of fall beginning to pick up some steam This was given to me as west side rainbow not sure it is but i like it anyways frag of a maricultured piece starting to show its true colors GB colorblind PC rainbow The dragon slimer is reaching the surface and starting to grow more horizontal

I can honestly say that I would probably not be in the hobby if I hadn't gone to upscales with a friend who was setting up a saltwater tank. I can still remember it was 15 years ago and I new nothing about keeping an aquarium of any type. Upon entering and seeing the reef tank pictured in the above post I knew that some day I wanted to have a saltwater reef tank. Well life happens and it took over a decade but I finally started my first tank 3 years ago and have loved every minute of it. So for me upscales was literally my insperation to get into the hobby and put forth a lot of the effort I do on my tanks everyday. Anyways just thought I would share my experince with the shop and I encourage everyone to visit, check it out and bring a friend you never know the impact it might have. 1. I run a bag of GAC in the sump that i change out about once a month 2. last time I checked PO4 was .08 and PO3 was around 5-6 granted I maybe test for them once a month at most 3. At their peak the whites are at 90% and thats for 3hours of the 13hour photo period 4. outside of dosing trace elements and liquid carbon source I dose red sea reef energy A&B once a week mixed with a calcium carbonate slurry and 2ml zeospur once a month. Calcium reactor takes care of Ca,Mg and Alk last water change was 6+ months ago.

Neptune WAV Pump - A head scratcher for me...

I have to agree nothing really innovative there and exsisting products on the market bring everything it does at a similar price point. I can respect them trying to create thier own all inclusive system but think they are behind the curve with this one. two years ago these would have been huge, but today I look at them and think meh. some RV supply places sell diy screen corners that are rounded, not sure how well they would match the radius of the corners of the tank but its worth a shot if square corners leave to much of a gap. For mounting it you can go with clips that go on the side of the tank or get some 3/4" strips of acrylic cut and screw them to the top of the screen frame. The rest of the materials can be had at and home supply or hardware store.
