  1. I am going to use a modified version. Mostly was looking at it for adding some mangroves to a display sump. Was not planning to rely on the fuge as a main source of nutrient export but as a source of micro fauna import and to be astetticly pleasing. Bonsai Mangroves. I planned to add a layer of sand over the top to help prevent it getting disturbed. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk

    Acan frag pack

I love acans. They have been reclassified and are now Micromussa lordhowensis or Micro Lords wonder if it will stick or if everyone will still refer to them as acans =) sorry to hijack. Cool looking Micro's (acans)! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk
  3. Stand pipe to raise the water level in the box is much safer I would be very careful about putting things in your over flow box that can clog up and or get suckers in the drain. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk
  4. Just wondering if any one on hear has or is currently using miracle mud in their fuge. I am planning to have a nice display fuge and was going to stick some in under a layer of sand. From what I have researched thus far it seems like it is a bit of a pain to get started but has some pretty good benefits down the road. They do recommend replacement of 50% every 2 years. Tank paint

Acrylic is nice low odder easy clean up use a foam roller and do several thin coats. Acrylic is also nice because you can easily do touch up while the tank is still running if it does get a scratch =)
  8. I bought some really high grit sand paper and some Novus 1-2-3 and a buffer wheel and elbow grease. there is no magic pill for buffing acrylic. and to do it righ you must make it worse before it gets better. do it in stages take you time and you will reap the benifits. the sand paper I got was 5k 8k and 12k I believe. http://www.amazon.com/SANDING-SHEETS-INTRODUCTORY-Peachtree-Woodworking/dp/B000H6HIK2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1461099930&sr=8-1&keywords=12000+sandpaper
  9. Just wanted to say thanks for the awesome trade. All the corals are happy and acclimating well. Look forward to dealing with you again in the future =) Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk
  10. Hey guy's and gal's just wanted to get some input on acrylic. I have a sump that I would like to add some baffles to as well as a hole that needs filled. I also want to remove some portion of the filter sock holders that are incorporated. The thickness of the acrylic is 3/16 of an inch. There is a baffle in there now that has started to separate and needs some attention as well. Your thoughts and advice are much appreciated. 1. What is the proper type of glue to use? I tried in the past and got mad crazing when I used the weld on jell. 2. Was thinking about using a flush cut router bit to remove the filter sock holders just wasn't sure if I needed a special type of bit. 3. What type of blade should I get for my table saw to cut acrylic without melting it. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk
  11. Just wondering if any one else has used these lights. I was doing a grip of research into lighting for my upcoming 75g build. When I came across these lights . There was not very much in the way of negative feedback. I was kind of leaning towards doing radium mh lights but kept coming back to heat energy consumption and 150 dollars to replace bulbs every year. So I started looking at Kessel but they were to expensive and seemed to be a little week. I got these for a screaming good deal on amazon 598 for the lights and mounts which was about 400 less then going with Kessel and their controler it was 175 below map price for the lights . So even at full price they were a better deal. I just got my light in and temporary set it up over my nano to play with. They have interchangeable lenses 110 and 80 degrees. The controls were super easy to set up and adjuncts are great . The mounts are designed so you feed the wires through them for a nice clean un cluttered look. I will do a actual review on them after about 6 months of use and I would also like to do some par testing in that time as well. Give me some feed back and or go check them out for your selves =) Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk

  14. The plan is to keep things simple going to stick to more tolerant corals and no daily dosing. So sps will not be making much of an appearance. I plan to use small amount of calk in the top off water but nothing over the top. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk
  15. So as some of you may remember quite some time back I had a 75g SPS dominated tank that I had poured my heart and soul into. Unfortunately due to a move and job change I did not have the time or money to keep the tank running and healthy so I sold the whole thing. This was about 2 years ago. Shortly after selling I heard that the tank crashed and was sold again. One of my favorite parts of the system was the stand that had a viewing window for a full display of the sump area. Well a few months ago I saw a Facebook posting a 75g tank for sale and I recognized the stand. I immediately contacted the seller and low and behold it was my old tank and stand. The tank was in great shape the stand was a bit rough. I bought it on impulse and nestalgia.for a few months now it has just been sitting in my garage without a plan or a place. Well I finalized negotiations with my wife and we are all on board and on the same page to turn this tank back into a reef. I will be transferring my current nano into the 75g. My nano has been rolling along for 2 years now. I will get a official thread going once I have things more planned out and work has begun. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk
