  1. Few more fires are baking.
  2. Told beer503 samething for his new tank, but he chickened out. You can use it as a sump or occassinally jump it as bath tub :-)
  3. Got a small frag from Jorge back ( after I saw beer503 growout's potential but did not make it), and it almost died with my unstable tank earlier this year. This is how it is now. Continue with messing P&N to get more purple pe. Late night lazy shot and ton of PS but it's pretty close to what it is in real life ( a bit richer color in real). If you still have yours around, it might morph into something nice :-)
  4. Man, living in PNW is not easy. Gotta find things to clear your mind. For me. 1. Fishing on both boat and bank ( Summer, Fall, Winter, Spring Salmon and Surf fishing). 2. SPS dominated. Why? cause they are like science project and weekly tank cleaning/maintaining keep me in shape (especially Winter slow hibernate time) 3. Guns, when others are slow down, Time to get out of the house to have some fun. 4. Beers: not much but daily a bottle :-) 5. School & Science: may be at some point when I am too old for the item 1 & 2 :-)
  5. i am interested in the tank and sump. Is there a way to swing by to take a look?
  6. Sorry for not up to date with this thread. Temporary patch was in placed at in mid size of the tank where the leak came from. The bigger issue is that corrosion is eating up metal frame where it got leaked twice ( last time and this time) so this tank will either be retired or a very good solution in place to support it ( over lap with another metal layer from outside...etc, IDK yet) Anyway, I am blessed with lot of support and late night help from Jeff-CuttleFish and follow reefers ( Jorge, Fernando, Beer503, Dragon, Brian ). And ton of help offer from Forum. Thank you very much all.
  7. All, just found out 600gal tank gets leaked from bottom. I would need to borrow 10 of 55 gal barrels. Any help would be appreciated --Tom
  8. Don't think it's same as Danik's Goblin. Its PEs a bit more bigger, bigger scales, and little richer in colors. Very similar but not same, I think.
  9. No name :-). Got it from Fernando a while ago.
  10. That thing is a king of Tenius under blue. 5/6 colors (rainbow), amazing.
  11. Colony looks inbalancing. Did you lose two frags out of it :-)?
  12. It's confusing when you use "Return". Return to me is gravity feed back to sump. Pressurized flow is from the pump to your tank. There's flow chart below for your decision.
  13. :-), will frag you some. Need to figure out how to get them to you.
  14. The two newest pics were taken by Roleiii's camera that he posted for sale earlier in the forum. Just wanna make sure it took care of custom WB. Not bad of Cannon D60 on its regular lense. Took 'em in rush but more of a toy for the Winter later on to mess around with ISO/shutter and stuff. Now is time to heads back to river fulltime :-).
  15. Anyone? Any tricks/tip? secret brine? :-) will trade frags for tips :-)
  16. U need to turn the whole wetside until you have a feel of tight bond between dry and wet sides. It won't be like old mp40 with strong mag. You need to find a sweet spot where the dry and wet stick the most by turn/twist the wetside
  17. LED: The reason I come back to this hobby because of LED ( excellent SPS colors and very controllable). No halide : I don't like its heat ( but best tank looking light). No T5 for me: I don't like fluorescent T5 cause their short life and dealing with recycle mercury environment headache.
  18. Frag tank: DIY LEDs done by Bombertech-Matt a year ago Display tank: 4 Hydra 52, 2 HydraHD and 2 Radion pro G3. I started out with Ai Sol on my dominated SPS DT tank, and slowly upgraded as they are $$. AI's products are very reliable for last 2 years; unlike other brands, they died within a year or so from my tank at work. I like LEDs and I can get outstanding colors out of my acros. It's all about controlling P and N and place them at right intensity to get their max colors; and need strong flow and rich of O2 to get excel grow. No additives ( all organic fish poops :-) ). I want to keep my tank simple and self sustaining. I run only Phosphate reactor (occasionally to control algea) and a very strong skimmer.
