  1. What would be the lighting for mini maxi's in a 10" deep tank(laugh)? Would 2 T5's work?
  2. I'm not to worried about it, this tank is more for species that I couldn't keep/never be able see in the DT. I may even add a chamber like this: I could extend my skimmer outlet to that it goes all the way over to the return pump chamber. I could also make it so that one of the drain lines goes into the skimmer chamber, and one into the coulerpa chamber.
  3. Just curious to see what people think could live comfortably in one of the four 11"x11"x11" cubes in the new tank I bought. I'm thinking shrimp/goby pair (that's why I bought the tank after all), maybe pipefish or dwarf seahorses, mini maxi's with sexy shrimp, or a small species of mantis shrimp. If anyone has a specific species in mind let me know!
  4. I think I've decided. I'm going to build a 54"L x 28"W x 54"H stand. The top shelf will have the DT on it. The DT will drain into the 33L which will be positioned 4"-8" above the sump, which will be behind the 33L. The 33L drain lines will go into the sump (via filter socks), there I'll have the skimmer and the return pump.
  5. Title says it all. PM me with what you got.
  6. So I got this SWEET tank from Aaron at The Nautilus (acrylic 33L with 4 chambers drilled w/ bulkheads) for $60. This is going to be my refugium, I'm hoping to get one or two shrimp/goby pairs, maybe some pipefish, and possibly some mini maxi's. Any body have ideas for a pump to use? It has duel input/output. Water comes in at the end chambers and out in the middle chambers if that helps.
  7. I did mention sponsorship to him. I even talk to him about Douglas, but I'll be sure to tell him about the meeting next time I'm in there.
  8. *Not sure if this is where to post this, feel free to move. I just stopped by to see Aaron at The Nautilus. He had just got this weeks shipment in and he got some sweet stuff in. He had a couple of frags of Miami hurricane chalice, Acropora's, and some other SPS/LPS. He had some other chalices, montiporas, rics, mini maxis, all sorts of stuff. Not to mention that he just bought out a wholesaler's tanks. He's got everything from 10g to 125g. He had a cube (not sure on dimensions but probably close to 12"), and this sweet custom tank that looked like is was about 36"x24"x12". I know he's not a sponsor but people should really go in there and check his new stuff out.
  9. I've got a 125g big cichlid tank, a 55g with some goldfish and convict grow out, 40b with axolotls, 65b with pacific giant salamanders, 29g with a bluegill.
  10. Anybody have a good resource for information on current efforts being made in this area? Specifically mariculture, and the like.
  11. Not quite sure what your statement meant. But if you read this post:
  12. Well that would explain it. i'll have to remember that.
  13. That's is actually the point of the paper I'm writing. Other topics in the paper are clownfish breeding, clam mariculture/aquaculture, and captive breeding cuttlefish for research labs.
  14. If anyone's interested I have a coupon code for BRS for $5 dollars off anything, with no minimum purchase, good for 24 hours. Just send me a pm and i'll give it to you. I can't use it right now but I'm sure someone could.
  15. I think that means you're exempt from taking the survey.
  16. I would specify 2nd generation propagated. So wild collected colony gets fragged, those frags grow out and then are fragged. All of those frags I would consider to be propagated. But I'm not being to picky.
  17. Give you answer as if it was the number or below. so 16% would be 20%, 81% would be 90%, ect.
  18. I'm doing a survey for my WR 122 paper on sustaining the aquarium industry. Please take they time to get an accurate answer. Thank You!
  19. i'm looking for a 20 gallon long or a 33 gallon long. It's ok if it's drilled. Thanks
