If you read through the rest of the thread some people have nothing but this filtering their tank, and their parameters are 0 all around. I'd say that means it works.
I tried it earlier today but I wasn't getting good flow down the screen. So I was wondering if anyone knew how to make it work.
Also, I had the idea to hook one up on a surge device, and was wondering what others thought.
Just wondering if anyone has built an algae screen filter onto their sump? If you don't know what it is here's a nifty link for you:

- Buying a montipora without knowing that it needed strong lighting.
- Thinking that my skimmer was broken because it wasn't working in the
bucket of fresh water.
- Filling the tank without putting the return pipe onto the overflow.
- Pulling the heater out of my mixing bucket without unplugging it. Let's just
say it broke.
- Not securing the ATO tube after refilling the bucket.
- The recent fiasco with the hammer coral.
Who knows what else I could be doing wrong right now
I can't believe what I just did. I was doing a water change, and what i do cut the flow off to the tank, then suck water out from the tank with a hose. I've never had a problem with this before, but tonight I wasn't paying attention because the cat was trying to investigate what I was doing, I a dragged the hose over my hammer coral!!! I looked up just in time to see the polyps retracting. It looks like some of the tentacles burst.
What can I expect to see happening to it now? Should I do another water change? Will those heads be ok?
I've got a 55g. I think I found my solution. h2odvl, i would love to borrow those until I can get one of these:

I know they're cheap but I talked to some people that said their's have lasted 9 months so far and they're still working great.
I'm looking at adding some flow to my tank because of some cyano-bacteria. I'm look for pretty much anything with a magnet. My tank is a weird partly covered acrylic so it's impossible to hang anything on the tank. I looking at paying under $30, or maybe borrowing one (or a couple) until the red is gone.
I've got a tank that is running empty right now and i noticed a couple of days ago that it is teeming with amphopods. I was just wondering if I can trap them so I can possible move them to another tank or give to some one with a Mardrin Goby.
ok, so at least he's still doing what he's supposed to be doing. Is garlic guard ok to use with what I have: leather, toadstool, sinularia, frogspawn, hammer, zoas, star polyps. Coral beauty, goby, cardinal, peps, pistol, and the skunk.
My orange skunk clown has had it's mouth open for about a week or 2 now and it's starting to worry me. Anybody know what this could be? I also noticed today that it sucks in the tentacles from my hammer coral, and spits them out.
Title says it all. I've got a guy in NYC that wants to have some fish shipped from Vancouver to him but the current owner doesn't know how. Just wondering if anyone up there can.
I've got a 55 gallon, I don't necessarily want to go all metal halide, I'm just looking to add a 70w or 150w to add to the 94w of florescent lighting I have now.
