  1. Must have not like the move much.
  2. Must have not like the move much.
  3. Not a full reef controller, but you can buy/build a heat controller for fairly cheap. I think sunsun makes one for around $20.
  4. What about a reptile pad heater connected to a controller?
  5. If you can do a quick cycle like that, why don't we make that a requirement and making the cycle time like 1 week before adding livestock?.
  6. Ok, the matter how I know the numbers around, accounting for rock, sand and pump, I come out to around 4200 mL or roughly 1.1 gallons of water. Turns out it's closer to 1.4 gallons without subtracting anything. Oh well. Maybe after I factor in live stock and filter materials I can get bellow 1 gallon of water DOH! (laugh)
  7. I just had an idea... Thank you Tiki man.
  8. I'm not trying to whine but if the vote goes for sub gallon, I think I may just watch. This one I just set up is about 1.2 gallons and I love it. Still may change my mind, but haven't found anything sub gallon that I like yet.
  9. I've had an idea for a while and I already had a pump, light, tank, sand, and rock. I'm mostly just trying to see what I'm getting into.
  10. I got to excited and I have no experience with nanos or picos. So I got my setup put together so I can play with equipment and get a feel of things before the 48 hour dry spell.
  11. Water bath temp control? Sounds neat.
  12. Cool, if we don't use an ac20, we should be able to add in that volume.
  13. Sounds good. How much is an ac20?
  14. I like the idea of variable containers with a n overall volume restriction. I think we'll see a lot more creativity if there are broad restrictions instead of everyone trying to make essentially the same tank.
  15. I would like to do it, but it really just depends on the container restrictions.
  16. What about a good ol' gallon jar? I like the idea of going back to what the first reef keepers used to use. Romans some 2000+ years ago were keeping anemones in small jars/jugs.
  17. We could have monthly updates with pictures, maintenance performed, and any issues or notable successes worth mentioning. The more detailed the better.
  18. Don't know about Vancouver water but I think anything below 5 is pretty good without DI resins. Some people are really picky and want absolute 0 but I didn't notice any big differences when mine got up to about 12-15.
  19. Don't make it a competition, just make it a project of sorts to compare what methods work the best for small reefs. No competition=no rules to be followed= no reason to get upset if someone is able to throw a couple hundred bucks into another tank.
  20. What about a $ limit on equipment and live stock?
  21. I be in for a cookie jar reef.
  22. Let me know when and I'll see if can help out. Saturday before 1 or Sunday after 1 works best for me.
  23. Thought I'd throw up a picture of my Sexies settling into their new home. Now the clowns will never get in it DOH!
  24. Not that I'm complaining but it's taken me almost 2 years to get up to 9 then in one day I go up to 11? At first I thought it went up every 100 posts (laugh)
  25. Seriously though, how do you leave feedback?
