  1. We have a bottle of Oyster Feast, and there is no way that we'll get through all of it before it expires at the end of August. We'll pick two names on Sunday morning at 10:00, and each person can pick up a 2-3 oz. aliquot. We're in close-in NE PDX. Gillian and Kendra
  2. 20" 250w sunpod w/ 14k phoenix bulb. Sweet MH setup that came with the solana I bought a couple weeks ago from Brandon but I decided to do LEDs so I don't need it. $215
  3. Yay, another person with a nano. We have a 12g aquapod with 1 blue damsel and 1 ocellaris, and we added the sixline a few months ago. No problems so far. It definitely helped with the bristle worm population, but we do still have some, which I figure is fine. I'm not sure if a sixline is really necessary for your bristle worm pop... sounds like the one you saw was pretty small and I'm assuming skinny, but in my experience, the sixline is a cool fish to watch and it has worked out fine in my tank. HTH!!
  4. Updated FTS.... the aquapod has been transferred to a 34g solana! (How do I change the title of this thread? Or do I have to start a new one?) Anyhow, rockscaping is temporary as some of it will go into the 3g pico that is underway. Lights are now a couple of 20k PAR38s. More pics coming soon!!
  5. Just picked up our new black clown from Roger (rgrcrain) and the pair are acclimating right now. We'll post a pic of them shortly. And a big thanks to Roger! Gillian
  6. share the love... sleep now while you can
  7. We've got a cute little black clown in our quarantine tank, ready to be introduced into our tank. We'd like to get him/her a mate, so we're looking for one that's either smaller or larger. Ours is about 1.25-1.5 inches long. Thanks! Gillian and Kendra
  8. Wow, share the love and good luck for a quick and smooth labor!
  9. My name is Kendra and I'm a reef addict. I may have been getting a little cranky recently because life's responsibilities have kept me from going out to buy more live rock for the solana!! :( And yes, I considered ditching summer school so that I could go get some, but I resisted. PS: you can't buy anything this month, but can you trade?
  10. If you ask Kendra, she will tell you that I do this all of the time. Most recently, I woke her up to apologize profusely for failing to clean the terrarium. (We don't have a terrarium.) There is a very funny blog on this topic: http://sleeptalkinman.blogspot.com/ Warning: that blog contains lots of foul language. The sleep-talker is apparently very mild mannered while awake, but not so much while sleeping. Gillian
  11. Thanks to the magic of Google, a cheap pair of Fred Meyer sunglasses, and a LCD laptop screen, we have determined that our tank has a tempered bottom and regular glass sides. Hooray! For the curious, we used this method: http://www.salt-city.org/showthread.php?t=9542 So, is there anyone who wants to come and drill the tank with us? (clap) We will provide beer and pizza, as well as admiration for your drilling prowess and bravery. We live in close-in NE PDX (Laurelhurst) Gillian and Kendra
  12. Party at our place! Beer, pizza, and pug. Gillian
  13. He is, indeed, very versatile! Perhaps he'll let us know how many size 0 diapers = 2 holes in a 90G. By the way, Alex, how's the pico tank? And the pico baby? Gillian
  14. Thanks to those of you who suggested that we might be able to have our new 90G glass tank drilled. I assumed that the "tempered glass" sticker on the bottom meant that the whole tank was tempered glass. Can anyone recommend someone who: 1) can tell us whether the back is tempered glass, and 2) if it's not, can drill the tank for us? Thanks for all of the info, everyone! Gillian
  15. We got a 90G. It's going to take a little tweaking to get it the way we want it, but the price was really, really good. Came with stand, sump, skimmer, nice 8-bulb T5 fixture. Fun project! Gillian
