  1. Thanks for the live rock rubble! Always a pleasure doing business at your shop
  2. You've been talking to Kim, and no, I don't want him to be my sperm donor! Back to the topic at hand: I <3 black eggcrate!
  3. For the record, the BRS dweeb is so cute! Reminds me of my days in Fargo.
  4. Check out The Nano Reef. His prices and customer service are excellent.
  5. Yeah, right. I've seen your basement. You can fit at least another 15 tanks down there. AND YOU WILL. Just wait. (nutty)
  6. What's your ammonia? How long did it take for the tank to cycle before you added the fish?
  7. What happened to sharing the live water love?
  8. Sorry, no take-backs... you're Tankerald now. Pics coming soon!!
  9. We got some great stuff from Isaac last weekend and I wanted to give a public thank you! We got two beautiful firefish for the Solana and they're doing great. I got some awesome palys - need to get a pic up because I can't remember the name - but they're white and green and huge. Seriously... I thought they were big at the shop, but when I got them home, they're huge... Costco-sized palys. Anyway, I also finally got Gillian her superman mushroom, so we were happy campers after we left, and things are doing great a week later! Yes, I promise to post pics!
  10. I got my first couple of things from TECO, and they're AWESOME. The Candy Apple Reds are phenomenal, and I love the acan I got, too. Also want to thank Beth & Kim for picking up our goodies! Thanks everyone! (clap)
  11. share the love! good luck everyone!
  12. Awesome! Are those the new 12" UVL T5s?
  13. LOL, you are the one who has been saying that light affects parameters. It's just that your results might be skewed if you don't *measure* parameters since they are influential in coral growth and you might actually be seeing the effect of those parameters and not the effect of the light... go look up "confounding" on wikipedia if you are still confused. If you don't want to measure, then don't. Some people are fine with anecdotal evidence. It's what brought us bloodletting, and vaccines "causing" autism. (scratch)
  14. It doesn't tell you anything about the lights since you have so many other unmeasured variables. It doesn't look like it's plumbed into the main tank. Maybe you'll post pics of that after you've done it, and start your "experiment" over.
  15. Then your results will be meaningless. If you're trying to test whether or not a type of lighting setup effects the growth of coral, you would want to hold all other influential levels as constant as possible.
  16. Are you going to be posting water parameters for the two tanks, too?
  17. Yes, do a water change. If you are done cycling, it means that the ammonia has been converted to nitrite, which has been converted to nitrate - i.e., your tank should have high nitrates. That warrants a water change. So do a water change, and start slowly adding your livestock. After that, you should be fine with a 10% water change every week, and have fun!
  18. So did you say you were running optics? If not, it will be hard to get good PAR in the lower half of the tank.
  19. Yeah, that pulled pork was *delicious* - thanks again! I loved your dog!!
  20. you running optics on there?
  21. Not sure if you already got something but you might try this: http://cgi.ebay.com/Finnex-Nano-Refugium-Aquarium-Light-Blue-LED-26-Watt-W-/200479921977?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&var=
