  1. Between his cave and his euphyllia, it seems like he couldn't be happier:) Edit: I guess azure and Kupang damsels are the same fish? You learn something new everyday...
  2. I went on this search recently and ended up with 50lbs of anhydrous feed grade calcium chloride pellets from Concentrates Nw in Milwaukee. If you want some, I have more than I'll ever use.
  3. Gobies, not just for reef tanks. Bonus points if you can spot them both.
  4. A new (quality) bulb seems to have fixed the issue. So far so good:)
  5. Emergency replacement CFLs: No shadows, no shimmer, no pop. So yellow, so ugly.
  6. I actually found a hook up near me:) Thanks though!
  7. It isn't adjustable, but thank you for the offer!
  8. Thanks for the offer, but I think I'll be OK. I remembered I have some PC fixtures that should suffice for a day or two, and I ordered a new bulb from Amazon.
  9. My ballast is not firing my bulb any more, and I don't have a spare... I'm still not sure which is the problem. Does anyone in the Portland area have bulb and/or ballast I can borrow to trouble shoot, or a new bulb I can purchase? I know I should have a spare, but I thought this fixture would last more than 3 months...
  10. Unfortunately, running the ballast straight from the outlet didn't change anything.
  11. Congrats! Sounds like everything is going pretty well with the move. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing your locally collected tanks:)
  12. Where are you located? I might be interested in the refracto.
  13. It is running through a timer, so I can experiment with that. I do need my light on a timer of some sort though. Oh how I hope you are wrong(sad)
  14. Greetings! I have a nearly full half gallon of BRS kalk I'm not using if you feel like driving across the river. Pm me if interested.
  15. My MH bulb is having a hard time firing up these days. The ballast tries, but then gives up before the bulb fully ignites. I did manage to catch it on video: The ballast is electronic Chinese bargain basement, the bulb is Chinese bargain basement as well. Any insights as to what is going on?
  16. Had I any money or confidence I wouldn't melt them...
  17. Purdy. Care to know how they look under bargain basement MH?
  18. This thread has been quite the disappointment. The first few posts where Micah had hijacked the old sight to get his hands on some sweet Cuttlefish sponsorship cash, that was exciting! Now that it has turned into nothing but misunderstandings and grumpiness over a frustrating situation, it just isn't the same(sad) At this rate, it won't be long until there is nothing to discuss but reef tank related issues... On a more serious note, the one thing I am actually taking away from this discussion is that there are a lot of people here who really give a d*mn about the community, and who are willing to work hard to keep it up and running, even while butting heads. As such, I'm happy to become a paid member of said community, as soon as I can figure out how;)
  19. You guys missed out on all the fun! Since I last posted an update the tank has gone through a huge diatom bloom, hair algae bloom, and 2 week bacterial bloom that completely sucked all the nitrate and phosphate (as well as a ton of Alk) out of the water, leaving me with nothing but nice clean rocks and happy inhabitants to show you. In celebration of the improved state of the tank, I finally got around to busting out the dslr, so no grainy iphone pics this time.
  20. Hmm, thought I would have to re-register. Apparently I had been lurking about here for a while(laugh) A huge Thank You! to everyone who helped bring the forum back. In the short time I've been actively posting here, I've met a ton of great people and gotten some great deals on equipment and coral. Now I don't know what I would do without this place. (clap)(clap)(clap)(clap)
