  1. I'd love to try it someday, though having a chiller run 24/7 is a bit much. I love the tanks at the Port Townsend Marine Center, but those are just plumbed into the sound.
  2. Has anyone tried to do an Oregon coast tide pool tank at home? Might be the only kind of tank you'd need a chiller for these days.
  3. I too was out for 8 years and just got back in. I just have a little 29 biocube for now but it's been immensely satisfying. The new tech is sick, the new tanks look super cool (what did you get, btw?), and the new corals are mind-blowing, enjoy!
  4. The tentacles are along the outside rim, it's just folded over.
  5. Now for a very special underwater edition of Teletubbies...
  6. What kinda mileage do you get with that tank?
  7. Yeah, it's definitely an anemone. I had to clean the tank out so it was in qt for a bit. It sticks to the sand bed these days.
  8. That's what I thought at first, but it's definitely a nem, I can't get a good angle to show the oral disc. I'm thinking it's a flower anemone, but without the bright middle.
  9. I recently bought a used tank with some livestock. Included was an nem the previous owner called a carpet anemone, but I'm not so sure. The blue tips are a photo artifact.
  10. Have you tried just putting it on the glass? If you try to take shots at an angle through the glass the focus doesn't work right. The just tap to focus.
  11. Yeah, that blue one is awesome! Hope its a fast grower!
  12. The gravitational pull of the moon is the same every time it goes around the earth. It doesn't vary with the phase of the moon, or whether its day or night.
  13. have you tested for nitrates and phosphates? I can't tell form the pic if the branches themselves was were blue or tan, with blue polyps. Do/did the polyps only come out of the blue tissue? if so, it doesn't look too good. Beautiful specimen. I probably would have bought it, too; but those non-photosynthetic gorgs can be tough.
  14. Did it just change color, or are you losing tissue? Pic?
