  1. Bring your tank temp up to 82, too.
  2. They say the camera adds ten...ticles.
  3. Yeah, enormous and healthy. A showpiece, to be sure.
  4. Whats its disposition? Do you have any other tangs?
  5. Back in Minneapolis, most of the monthly TCMAS meetings were at people's houses. Its always interesting to see how systems are set up and, of course, window shop for the next round of frags.
  6. Those are some cool tanks, you'd have to get something equally creepy to put in it. Something highly poisonous.
  7. yeah, I had the old 2G before...huge difference.
  8. The tap to focus is great. Just "put it on the glass" as they say and point it at what you want. here its focused on the LPS in the center Here its focused on the sponge in the background and the zoom here are some more... if anyone can tell me what this is I'd appreciate it
  9. There's a cover for the porthole, but its not really necessary. Looking straight through the tank you see the reflection in the sink mirror, i.e. a porthole aquarium. Refraction and reflection prevent you from seeing in from the other sides.
  10. yeah, I'm a bit confused. There are a lot of pics. Does it usually take awhile for them to post? The album is here: http://picasaweb.google.com/mikewedel72/TankProgress?feat=directlink
  11. So I finally got around to doing my build thread. Bear with me as this is the first time I'm posting images. The tank itself is around 280, with a 110 sump which holds about 70gal. Its made with epoxy-painted 3/4 plywood and 1/2" glass. I'm currently running a SWC extreme 200 skimmer. For lighting I have 8x54w T5s and 2x400MH. Return pump is a Dart. Closed loop has a high pressure Iwaki, OM super-squirt, and penductors. The original laundry area you can see the porthole to the bathroom between the overflows The porthole the other way Some of the awesome live rock I got from FL
  12. They are saying it was their fault because they never should have accepted it as checked baggage. Not that they damaged it or sent it to the wrong place.
  13. Updated some prices, added shipping. The max is $3300 per bag. Should I just claim it? Reefboy, Nano (sorry, I should remember your name- did the red mantis live?) could you really sell pieces like this for that cash, including shipping?
  14. I'd appreciate that. I'll probably swing by today, I need to get the ball rolling on this since it'll take a while to be reimbursed.
  15. They shipped my box of corals from my old tank to Phoenix and damaged it to the point of leaking , so they won't ship it here (funny, the box made it all the way from Jakarta to Minneapolis fine). Therefore, I need to figure out the value of these items. None are rare by any stretch of the imagination, but I've had them for four years; all are colonies, most are huge. I'll write what I think they would cost if you could find specimens that size in a shop, tell me if I'm far off... 15" Devil's hand leather $180 10" Toadstool $140 9" Green M.Cap $120 volleyball sized shrub of a purple whip gorgonian $300 20"tall 10" circumference 15 branched, tan candelabra gorgonian $200 30+ head green/purple frogspawn $300 20+ head metallic green frogspawn $200 6 various Ricordea $150 8 various mushrooms $120 25 orange zoas $50 20 green dragon eyed zoas $40 Pink bubble coral $100 Orange scolymia $100 Shipping costs $400 Total $2400 Are there any websites known for having large colonies for sale? I may have to validate these prices somehow. Do you think its fair to consider adding shipping charges to the value? If I'm trying to get a replacement value established it doesn't seem unreasonable to assume some shipping costs, right? Ethical and philosophical commentary welcome on that one as well.
  16. there's no reason to panic just leave it to the peppermint shrimp, they've never failed me. If you use kalk paste just make sure you dissolve the whole thing, otherwise you're fragging them.
  17. Do you still have the orange frogspawn (H&K)? if so, I'll take 'em. Mike
