I forget what this stuff is called the center piece was purchased from C&C for about $45-60 can’t recall. If I got $50 for all three that would make me happy. Note the tennis ball for scale.

I could use some purple in my zoa garden. Which are the ones that are mostly purple, and then the ones with the purple center and yellow around that then orange at the outer edge?

So I've lost 4-5 frags over the past 6 months of a newly established tank (~10 months old). I realize that alone is enough to write off as the cause of my RTN, but.... I have a theory as to why. I dose carbon with Red Sea Na-PO-X via my top off water. I dose aminos with Red Sea Reef Energy A & B My tank parameters are pretty stable. Nitrate is 1-2ppm Phos 0.01-0.03 SG 1.024 Alk 9.0 (I have a KH Guardian) Ca 400 and MG 1350. Weekly 10% water changes. But I find anytime I overdose carbon (via top off, sometimes Tunze osmolator stalls out I reset it. Or I turn up the speed on my return pump, etc) and then I dose more carbon than usual. Then comes the reef energy. I've gotten lazy and sometimes don't measure it thinking too much wouldn't hurt. But if overdose those two, it seems like a frag will RTN the next day. I have over 25 frags.... so I can't explain why its just one, but thank god though. Why do I believe this other than observation? I've read carbon dosing causes some bacteria to bloom (and some of those bacteria are the ones that reduce NO3 and P04). And the aminos must accelerate any sort life too. So overdosing of both might cause both good and bad material bloom in the tank. And some say RTN is caused by blooms or certain "bad" bacteria. Just putting this out there. Curious what others might think. I suppose it could be random still. But that is my experience so far. I'm going to be more careful about dosing those two and will see how the tank does. As an aside, ever since I lowered my Kh from 11 (frag farmin!) to 9 and used a Hanna and Phosphat-E maintain my phosphate at 0.1, my colors have gone from good to great. And if anyone has Bill Murray or Pink Floyd frags to replace mine that RTN'd.... 😭 pm me

Going to need to come in and check it out

Here there, I'm interested. I don't know much about them - does he/she nip on corals? How many inches is it would you say?

If no one claims them locally by the weekend, sure!

I have two of these XL size racks holds 19 well spaced frags or a lot more if you use the spacer holds. $25 each? Would consider some trades, I have most common SPS but would consider a Monti. I also lost my lime/bue ricordia mushrooms so if you have any of those...

Thanks for the comments. The clam did show growth at one point. I forgot to look for that more recently. I’ve been keeping my phosphates at .05 or below, nitrates at 2mg/L. Ca 420 and Alk at 11. Have heard about the sand thing.
-
I need to check out the par meter but the clam is directly under an arm mounted gen 3 radion XR30 at the bottom of a 20in tank. I also have a blue LED light bar for some additional PAR for the edges of my 36in tank. Removed him. No evidence of predators/worms. Maybe I shouldn’t have had him in the sand bed.

I have been reluctant to scrub the sponge off because they I do read they are toxic and thought it was better to leave alone and the clams mantle was touching the sponge and seemed fine so it let it go. other clam in the tank is happy as a... clam

After bringing it home from C&C’s I noted a pretty purple sponge growing on it that has slowly grown over the past 5 months. But not into its shell and it never seemed to bother the clam. any ideas or things I should check? Params are all ok other than my alkalinity wandered a little high at 13 now but all the other tank inhabitants are happy.

Can someone hold my coral collection? (MOVING)
Cobalt replied to Teramelos's topic in General Discussion
I have a Red Sea Max Nano 20g that is mostly empty. I don't have alkalinity automation on that tank, it just gets 5 gallon water changes from my display tank. I have some softies and LPS in there. I'm close to downtown Portland. -
Really had a [language filter] moment when I checked on my Nano during the daytime. Showoff. 😂 Untitled.mpg

I Think I'm Ready To Try An Acropora If Anyone Has Frag Or Two...
Cobalt replied to TaylorW's topic in Want to Buy / Trade
I have a bubble gum / forest fire monti pots digi that I bought from a Jeff a while back is growing like a WEED. For comparison my PC rainbow has grown maybe 1/4in in the last two months, and this has been on an inch and is branching like moose antlers. If you’re in portland Sometime I’d break you a frag for $10. -

I’ve changed my setup and selling these two. They work great. They are just over a year old. And they come with nem guards. Both powerheads and the reeflink to control them - $460.
