  1. Sorry for the hijack Brad.
  2. Hi Scott, I lost all of my LE algaes right before Christmas. My Elos just hit the 2 month mark. I'll start a build thread one of these days... I'll text you a pic for now.
  3. Hi Chris! I'm still around... Just been busy for the last 8 years. I need to visit soon.
  4. Yes to all 3. 1.5" drain will handle close to 2 1262's, but I would only run 1. Much easier to quiet down and a very good flow through the sump, assuming you're running a decent sized sump.
  5. That GH aqua delight looks amazing Brad! Need to get a piece of that back..... Have beer, will travel
  6. Fixed that for ya Scott! Tank looks very nice Brad!
  7. Lots of great ideas here. Love the plastic coat hanger/nori suggestion! 1 word...... DREMEL. Saved my rear plenty of times!
  8. Pachyseris rugosa. Elephant skin coral.
  9. LOL! Crazy huh? BTW Jordan, BEAUTIFUL tanks! Love the placement of the corals!
  10. Miles is right. They aren't that bad, especially on the lower settings. Either brand of pump. I do have very good ears though. Most people that have seen my tank don't even notice the hum.
  11. Vortecs are not quiet. You will hear them ramp up and down. Only slightly louder than the Tunze 6055. Either way the flow that either pump provides is worth it.
  12. Great skimmers! What pump(s) come with it?
  13. Roger that Michael. Maybe it will work out down the road. This whole thing was a surprise to me.
  14. Money better spent elsewhere. Plus, just about anybody with a frag tank in their closet can get a sponsorship here. That, and he is WAY too busy to keep up with posts on the forum. I think Brad makes a good point. "he was probably just as happy to leave as some where to see him go"
  15. Pssh! That's what I call REAL work. Not my kind of thing lol!
  16. SWF has them. Keys Scarlet Reef hermits. They're about $3 each The ones Jesse Posted are Mexican Redlegs.
  17. Yeah I hear that. I meant that I know a guy who could possibly make your skimmer work better............
  18. Let me know when/if you want to upgrade. I know a guy
  19. I'd reduce the # of tangs to 2 or 3. Then upgrade your skimmer. What one are you running now Brandon?
  20. The chamfered edges are decieving Rick. It's 1". Looks like the back is 3/4". If so, Tunze magnets hold up pretty well with 3/4".

    tank gurgling

I agree with Alex and Rick. Drill another hole for a secondary drain. My cube tank O/F is the same as yours but has 2 B/H's. 1 is the main line with a 1" strainer standpipe. I use a gate valve to tune it just like a herbie. The secondary standpipe is just a 1" pvc pipe about an inch above the strainer. It never sees water. No burps, gurgles or anything. I can only hear the water traveling through the pipe to the sump. Nice tank BTW!

    frsh water dip

With some TLC that acro should color up nicely! Just keep it in moderate flow and with your lights, I would put it in the top third of your tank. Although, I would frag off all dead areas. Otherwise, algae will grow on the dead spots and possibly choke off other healthy tissue. As for the flatworms, they sound to me like the harmless gray variety, about the size of a broken pencil lead. If so, I wouldn't worry about them. Just make sure to dip all new incoming corals either with Lugols(my #1 choice) or coral Rx, before putting in your display. Have you tested your CA/ALK/Mg lately? #'s? If you keep up on testing and keep the parameters stable, that coral will do just fine.
