  1. Don't let the troll get to you. He's got a bit of a complex, and likes to take it out on newbs. Welcome to the board! Tell us about your tank.
  2. Pics would help Scott. Guys this is a MH/PC fixture, including 2 icecap ballasts and a PC ballast. The icecaps are worth $200 alone. Not a bad price. But then again, these are not discussion forums.
  3. AHBrit (aka Schmeggy) started this site
  4. I concur with Issac. For actinic supplementation VHO's are the only way to go. I would also suggest getting the most out of your MH's by upgrading to better reflectors(lumenmax elite's).
  5. Is that you Patrick? If so, wow! It's been a while! Shoot a PM to "spectra" (aka Scott) He is great and has built many steel stands for locals. Big to small. Great guy to work with!
  6. Any of the Tarantino movies. Just watched Jackie Brown again for about the 50th time. Never gets old. Have you seen Inglourious Basterds?
  7. I have had many great experiences with Neptune also. Cliff rules! We ought to see if they want to sponsor our site.
  8. Agreed with Miles and Mike! How long have you had the dotty? .....and WELCOME!
  9. Agreed with Franklin! I have 3 ACjr's and all were bought used. Unless you want to monitor your tank params via a smart phone, go for an ACjr.
  10. for the return I would run 1.5" all the way to the top of the tank, 90 elbow to the cross, reduce to 3/4" for the SS and then feed the other 2 returns spanning across the top.
  11. Agreed with Steve! You want to run a 1.5" 4 way(cross) as well. Then neck down to 1" Otherwise you're killing the flow. Is that a blackfin? How many GPH?
  12. I still say Majano. Look at all of them, especially the one in the background.
  13. H2ocean Consistently good values. Especially Mg.
  14. It's been in the works for a few months now. I'm sure the employees knew more than 10 days in advance. Anybody wanna buy a ballast?
  15. Eddie, Add 4, 5' T5 actinics to your dual 400's and it will look like my tank. The T5's really help to illuminate the shaded areas of the MH.
  16. BUILD THREAD! BUILD THREAD! BUILD THREAD!
  17. Dig the VHO's and I can't wait to see what it looks like in 2 years! LMK, if you want some help.
  18. Pretty sure with the dimentions brad posted, he is probably getting a marineland 300DD (glass) Regardless, 1800-2000 GPH through a sump designed for the tank in question is plenty (if not excess) for the skimmer/heater(s) to do their job. In my experience having excess flow through a sump actually decreases skimmer performance. Let alone the noise/evaporation factor.
