  1. what was compromised? Usernames? Passwords? Account information?
  2. This one has grown out quite nicely probably well over 50/60 polyps now - send me a message if you're interested in coming by and checking them out. I've got lots
  3. OK - i'll give them a shot I just ordered the 12k 175W bulbs for my tank - hopefully will like them next week when they come in
  4. Because it's a discussion board, for talking about things.
  5. Phishers are crafty - and seriously, some of the emails look like the real deal. If you ever get an email from "paypal" that seems fishy, forward it to spoof@paypal.com. Paypal likely will honor your request - but you need to go through the proper channels to do so. The same you'd have to do with a credit card. Sure CCs may move faster, but it will still get resolved. Odds are - someone got your information somehow. If it's an email address/password combo you use anywhere else, then the hack could have happened anywhere. It's one of the dangers we have to live with these days - people are unscrupulous. People are shady. We need to protect ourselves and not be so quick to pass blame. But if it's on paypals side as you say it could be - those details would be great to know - because by the looks of it, almost all of us here have a PP account. FWIW - I'm not from this country either.
  6. Did that paypal email actually have your name in it - like your real name not just your email address/login ID? If not, then it was a phishing scam and you may have been taken. The real issue here is that someone has your paypal login information - it's not paypal's fault that it happened. And yes - they are mainly concerned with making sure they get their cash/fees. It's like any financial company. And really - outside of thinly veiled racism, what was the point in mentioning that the CSR could hardly speak english?
  7. What? Are you serious? No one is bashing a sponsor.(flame)(scratch) This is eerily familiar...I think I raised my concern about *****footing around things a few months back. How unfortunate.
  8. Wha? You threw out a live animal - and left it to die a slow/agonizing death? :( And after only 5 hours of waiting for someone to get it? (sad) Would you do that to a fish? A dog? A cat, sure I can see that, but coral?
  9. maybe your UV is dead? My thoughts on those is that you make a sterile environment by killing the bacteria, and if that stops the animals have become accustomed to the sterile environment and the surge in baddies could make them sick. It's like daycare. Kids eventually just become carriers of sickness, but at first they get sick all the time
  10. Is that what happened tot he Queen Angel one? I was looking for that. (nono)

    Melting Xenia

    (scary)(scary)
  12. Are you a store? Too bad I'm heading out of town soon, I'd like some of those :(
  13. I've got a frag of this monti spongode. One of the nodules broke off, so it's a decent size. - Also a small frag of the monti behind that, not sure what type it is. The polyps on these shots are partially retracted because I just scraped the glass and they got jostled. Also, this acro - again not sure what it is here's the frag, and mother colony. The mother lost it's green polyps, but they are on the way back you can see them in the frag. It's green/purple, and depending on the light the intensity change. And then, this monti The mother is a big one with greenish polyps and purple base, the frag has baby blue polyps with the purple base... Here's the frag I'd trade, and another frag that's growing out on my rock - it's an encruster. Sorry for the image quality , I did a quick snap of these.
  14. technically anything that has more than 1 megapixel is HD.
  15. You mean you currently turn on and off your lights manually?(fishhit)
  16. What are you going to use for filtration? fish only or reef? The glass isn't porous so your bacteria count will be ultra low, and the LR is what acts as a filter normally.
  17. I want a small koralia for the bottom of my tank to get some flow down low and across the backs of my rock...anyone have one they aren't using?

    Hair Algae

in my experience the lettuce nudibranch did a much better job than my sea hair at algae removal, and lived about 40x longer.
  19. It's a shame whoever told you it could handle lower lighting sold it to you. :( Good job to you for asking about it though!
  20. Another awesome set of corals from Randy. The Tyree Undata looks like it's on fire in my tank - way nicer than I expected, and your pics didn't do this thing justice at all! The other two are looking great (tri-color & 24k Milli) but the Undata blows my mind. Thanks again and good luck with getting the new tank up and running!
