  1. I'm currently down in San Diego for work, and as luck would have it I found a SW store on SDMAS's website and it's only about a mile or so from where I'm working/my hotel. And the best part, they are open until 9 on weeknights, which means I can go there. (clap) My plan is to scout it out tonight, and then if I see things worth trying to get back up north I'll see if he can make me up a container/package to check on the plane for Friday night. If I see anything super cool/different I'll likely do it just to try and bring some unique items up north, and of course if/when I do this and they settle in and start to grow - I'll frag to share the bounty I'll post back after my visit to the store and let you all know what I think (scary)
  2. Unless you head to Upscales and see the one he has that's bigger
  3. http://www.google.com/search?q=pe+mysis&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a
  4. Some Ricordias that started out with 3 on a rock that's fist sized, and now it's entirely covered. Even after sharing them with others!
  5. I found the PE almost too big for my fish! They didn't like the full size Mysis, so I had to shave it off the block to get smaller bits so they'd eat it.
  6. Back on the wagon, eh? Good! Your tank is far too nice to be forgotten about.
  7. I've got these if you are coming up to Portland....
  8. Bump! I'm still looking for cool montis. I've got one that under the right light has baby blue polyps - I've gone one mounted frag of this where the polyps are still green (because it's low in the tank - and it is a freshly mounted frag) and another larger one that that has a mix of blue and green polyps. The base on this is currently a purpley-brown. Also have a frag of a green monti that when in high light supposedly has blue polyps too - but for me it stayed green. I believe this is from Tyree growth - I got it locally from Izzypop and I think I remember him mentioning that, if you care about it (I personally don't give two shakes about names).

    best anthias?

Depends where you get them, and how many you get. More helps make deals easier I haven't paid more than $35 locally - and never bought online.
  10. That's what they look like when juvies - the adults are like this
  11. Any other wrasse that enters the tank. And they will try to bully anything else IME. I have a Christmas (Ornate) Wrasse. He likes to think he's tough by flexing for all newcomers, but he's a sweetheart really. And anytime something gets added to the tank, be it a frag plug or bit of rubble, he's the first one over to give it a quick check out for pods, grabbing any and all bugs on there.

    best anthias?

I've got Bartlett's. In my experience - they've been very easy to maintain. I had 1 male - 3 females in a 60G. The male was gorgeous, and constantly put on a show. I also noticed that the males tend to be the jumpers - as I've lost two (the dominant female swaps to male). They eat everything I put in the tank, and are always out and about and love to display for me. I'm down to 1 male 1 female now - and will likely get 2 more females again once I get my eggcrate put in place.
  13. Where in your tank are you putting it? That could change things. My crocea barely opened when it was in the middle of the tank, I moved it out of the alcove I put it in and moved it to the upper 1/3 of the tank and it opened up nice and wide.
  14. check my pics out in the thread i posted. Do you have pictures of yours? I'd like to see what some of those look like!
  15. I'm kinda in love with the spongodes right now I can't wait to see it start to throw up some columns. Once that happens, I imagine I'll be ready to frag up a column. Thanks to you as well for the trade - The purple guy is already opened up and I can see the purple quite nicely. I put him up high for the light, the lilypad I put midtank with a lot of flow. I'll track progress and let you know
  16. Also you mean Sunday the 16th right? Becaue today is the 14th - and its already 3pm!
  17. Picked mine up yesterday too. Fish and coral seemed quite happy to get it, but not the crazy reaction that I was expecting based on people's forum posts elsewhere. Could be that I feed a mix of frozen food daily, as well as coral foods (coral frenzy 3x/week) so everyone seemed as happy as usual to see me walk up to the tank and pour in the goodness. I'll keep using it in rotation with my other foods - because it sure beats the hell out of flake/pellets
  18. The one frag I've got is earmarked for Dsoz already - so I have nothing And I wouldn't commit to any frag swaps anyway, incase I don't make it out there
  19. Your guys doing any frag/sand swap or anything? I might be able to make it there
