I have an large anemone that split few months ago, and now both are huge again. I won't be able to remove it till one decide to move a little. I'm in Hillsboro. Asking for $60 for one. Both are about the same size. If interested and one of them start moving it's foot a bit, I'll let you know and remove it.

Anyone local to Portland area have Berghia Nudibranch culture going? I've try kalk paste to kill aiptasia but always comes back. My latest attempt was to scrap them off but only discover little bits of them can grow into another aiptasia. :(

I got this urchin from Petco about a month ago. Corner of my rock was covered with carpet like red thick algae that snails won't graze. The urchin cleaned it off. I seen it graze on sps brach where the coral have rtn and it leave any live sps polyps alone. It does tend to move frags that are not glued down. How does free rental work? You put $18 down (that's how much it cost me). After a month or so, when it has finish grazing your tank, bring it back alive, and I'll get you your $18 back.

I'm using Instant Ocean. It's cheaper and I stocked up few years ago..still have several buckets. Fresh mix with RO water at 35ppt: Ca 300ppm ALK 10dkh Mg 1150ppm I always boost Ca to 450 and Mg to 1350 when doing water changes. I haven't done water change for last 4 months...only top off 1 gal saltwater when my skimmate is full.

Also added algae scrubber and feeding heavily starting 3 months ago.

Before my blues were 100% and whites were 70%. Now blues are 80% and whites are 50%. Both are 100w led each with optics lens, 24" above the water.

Got this frag about 10 months ago and slowly turned brownish with basically no growth. About 5 months ago, lose 1/3 to rtn when I was on vacation. 3-4 months ago I noticed it changed color, more fluorescent bluish green when white light dim down. This is also when I started to reduce my LED intensity. 4+ weeks ago, I started dosing iron. Today, I just noticed it had some light color new growth.

If you're not going to take if off often, use flexible tube and saran warp. Should be leak proof.

You can "cook" your current dried live rocks but will take time. This is what I did with dry live rock I bought online: 1. Hose rocks clean as much as possible. 2. Soak rocks in plastic container or clean trash bin with fresh water and a some plain bleach for 3-4 days. Bleach will help breakdown organic and speed up the process. 3. Empty the bleach water, replace with hot water. Water from your hot tap will do. This will evaporate and remove bleach as the water cool. 4. Leave it in freshwater for 2 weeks. If water turn color (yellowish or brown), replace with clean freshwater. You can add small power head if you like. 5. Once water stays clean after last water change then your rocks are ready to be placed in tank. This process may take 4-6 weeks. In the meantime waiting for rocks to "cook", you can start cycling your tank with sand. If you're going bare bottom, add some bioballs in sump for cycling. Once you place your rocks in tank that's cycled, you can remove the bioballs after 2 weeks.

If you like coding, play with electronic, and save lots of $$$... Do a DIY controller with audrino mega. Total cost less than $200 and building it is just as entertaining as the reef tank itself. Here are a small list of features I programmed: -Skimmer pump turn off if sump level increased by 0.5" and restart when sump level is within. -Skimmer pump off for 3hrs if skimmate rate is high. -skimmer pump off if skimmate is full -wave pump intensity sync to moon phase -wave pump oscillation frequency randomized 4 times per day with auto slight variation to prevent splash out. -LED control for sunrise, peak, cloud cover, sunset, moon phase. -pH controlled kalk ATO -Temp controlled heater and fan -Control auto feeder 3x daily and pause return pump 10min -SMS warnings and log all data every 10min -upon power restored from outage.. retrieve time from internet and auto recover operation.

Main colony is near the top but the frag is on the sand. Both have similar colors.

Works well but can be more ergonomic. Outside handle is exact same as inside...good for saving production cost but bad for ergo. My fingers were cramping a little after cleaning 3 sides. Were able to clean all the coraline algae right to the silicone seams.

I need to trim my Green Bird Nest (Seriatopora). $5 for fresh frag, $10 for frag on rock. It's a fast grower. I'm in Hillsboro.
