  1. Nice Zoas Miles. What's the difference between Fire and Ice and Rings of Fire? they look very similar to me..
  2. I think it is actually the new iSkimmer, just plug it on your ipod or iMAC, and it will clean up all the junk that has been piling up. Also comes in blueberry and fluo green, Compatible with iPhone too (laugh)
  3. Pledo, where are you located? If you are close to PDX I can bring back whatever you are interested in?
  4. Pagoda, poscillopora, Acro Sent you mail and PM
  5. living la vida loca I missed the last meeting unfortunately, sometimes work comes first, this is one of those stretches, but a breather is in site. (threaten) Did you get a chance to present your idea Brandy? Can we hear about it? I am very supportive of this and will help (probably having some king of work group or committe on this would help). I think you are 100% right: simple is absolutely where this needs to start, while keeping the vision very much in site. Has anyone seen any existing site that would already exist with similar features as the one expressed here? Even if it is in a completely unrelated topic? Anxious to hear your thoughts!
  6. I knew it was coming! DOH! See what I mean!! rofl Yeah my skimmate is pretty dense those days.. 55 proof!...right on Miles!(laugh) Gobies should be mostly filtering algae from your send, and not affect the deeper biolife. But the point about spitting the sand all over is a good one and it's not a bad idea to move corals up from the sand bed so they don't get burried. My watchman goby and two sand sifting stars seem to do the job on my 200G no sand storm really. It looks like the Bahamas all year long...(clap)
  7. Agree with everyone above except for Impur (nutty) . Sand sifting stars, sea cucs, and nasarius
  8. 5 inch sand bed, nasarius snails, sand sifting stars, sea cucumbers to keep the sand looking clean and aerate it. PVC rings to support rock and sculpt around it with more rocks. Start with the big rocks, create a hollow centers that allows for very good flow even in the midlle of your rock structure (limits deadspot where detritus might build up if you don't have a good detritus crew). also good hiding place for creatures , crabs, shrimps and other scaredycat monsters...etc... as others have said, whatever makes it fun, after all you'll be the main one looking at it everyday and cleaning-up
  9. I just seeded my 5 inch sand bed with a few cups of live sands from other "trustworthy " tanks and keep swapping sand at each meeting with whomever brings some (asuming they have clean well established tanks as highlighted by Nyles). There is obviously more than one way do this, but I like swapping sand and meeting new people in the process...(drinking)
  10. Ouch! That's unfortunate. I am crossing my fingers. Plumbing is BTW I saw the set-up Friday night before it was about to get filled-up and it looks really good. Brandon has thought about almost everything (well except for that stupiod leak, but if you don't have one, that's not a true chrissening is it?(laugh) ). The tank looks fabulous, the lights are very classy, and the stand plus support pole for the lights very profesional. Once life comes in there this should be a very enjoyable tank to look at. I can't wait for the pics!! Thanks for the Fishes and the frags Brandon!! LMK if you need help mopping!
  11. PM Sorry you have to get out. Dogs are fun though! PM sent
  12. Yes Stomatella. Sign of good health and biodiversity in your tank, also a delicacy for Wrasses... but should not be an issue if it is in your fuge unless you keep a Wrasse in there...
  13. Josh , great meeting you. Hope you made amend at SWFS after being busted for illegal dealing (laugh) All corals look great and polyps are fully expanded. The Pink Stylo, yellow with blue tip Acro, blue stag and blue milli are spectacular. One of the coral I could not find was the purple monti dig, looks like you might have switched to the orange one instead. No biggy, it is still a nice one, but would not mind the purple monti if you end up coming back up to drop mama to the airport again?? Thanks it was great dealing with you, great stuff, very healthy!
  14. RED lots of red and blue, purple for the Hard Coral SPS Red, Green, Purple for LPS All colors for softies, but mostly red , blue and green if metallic
  15. What kind of skimmer do you run on that tank? I read that model requires the Super Zoinks Impurfector 2000zx, is it a single or dual overflow?
  16. And the jury also has a keen eye for style...when it comes to fish husbandery..
  17. Maybe Miles, but beware of the competition, there are some big fish around here
  18. maybe there should be a new section in the POTM i.e WPOTM or UPOTM or Just POTHEAD (laugh) . We all know that all those votes for E were really meant for J. I think there were some hanging chads too! Way to create a controversy Sean!!(wife) Reccount!!
  19. Turn up the heat, or make an offer that no one can refuse...(laugh) Good luck!
  20. ugotadeal! How are the Impurrfect growing?
