  1. Anyone have a power supply for a Vortec MP40 that I can borrow untill I can get a replacement? Mine went out. Ken
  2. I would not do this. You are dosing calcium and alk, but your controoler does not moniter these parameters. Your pH is more related to the CO2 in the house. Have a few frinds over, pH goes down, contooler kicks in, tank out of whack. Your controoler works for a reactor because we have a set pH that we are trying to achieve in the reactor and the controoler can add co2 as needed to get there. Entirley different thing.
  3. I have a dual pulse start PFO ballast with one DE reflector. $100 Ken
  4. I would like to trade for the orange yuma. Have LPS and SPS. (Located in Ridgefield) Ken
  5. If the pump is turning it is possibly a blocked air line that goes to the pump. Happens quite often. Just take apart and open the blockage with a drill or ? (just twist by hand, not in a motor).
  6. They claim this: Aquavitro’s new Salinity salt is aimed at the natural seawater parameter (NSW) crowd which is popular among ULNS users. But...the Dkh is 9.8. That is not the normal Dkh that most report for NSW (more like 7.0).
  7. Did some reading and it looks like ESV mixes at 35...Dkh 10 cal 550 or 450 (two different reviews). That is higher than I wanted for a ULNS system. Premium ships salt for 12 per bucket. Why can't we get Get Tanked for around that shipping rate? (instead of #35)
  8. Bob, At the meeting yesterday I was asked about ESV salt. Did some checking on it and I like what I am reading. Mixes like Get Tanked (separate chems), but may be easier to approach the company (B-Ionic).
  9. Kim (not Beth), If you like, you can bring the frags to the BBQ. I have a separate quarantine tank, so it will not be a problem. OIB is on the way. Only problem would be stress on the corals for those that win and are not present (multiple transfers). Ken (actually Kim...ask me about that at the BBQ)
  10. Bump, and reminder to bring your portable chairs. Ken
  11. J-Dog, Here are some pictures of the birdsnest and some other corals. One is a stoney that is easy to keep and the other is a soft coral that is very bright (also good for beginner). I also have several other corals that I need to thin out...hammer, frogspawn, etc. Prices are very reasonable. I think I am available Sunday, if you can not make it Saturday (that whole BBQ thing). Ken
  12. Not much room for expansion. There is a post in the way of that. Just need to start pruning the corals so I do not run out of room. Anyone that wants some frags might want to bring a bag or two.
  13. For those of you driving to the BBQ, here are some tips. Exit 14 off I5 and go West about 1.5mi. You will go down a hill and then up a hill...as soon as you go up the hill look for the first left... S 9th ave.(the sign is easy to miss...hidden). Then go up the hill about .5m...on your left you will see S 6th way....take the next left (S 8th way). The sign is in a tree and impossible to see when going south. Go down the hill and we are on the left. Easy.. Ken
  14. I have that coral and I have a frag available. About 2" long. Also have a couple other birds nest. Hey, why don't you come to the club BBQ and check it out. Ken
  15. I will buy the meat first thing Friday. Brine for 8 hours, then cook for 17-20 hours (real BBQ). If you are undecided or have not responded to the evite, please do so before 8AM Friday. Hope to see you there, Ken
  16. Any news on the Get Tanked salt? Ken
  17. There are no custom glass tank mfg in the northwest. If you want a custom tank (glass) you have to pay very large shipping fees. Just saying.....
  18. Hey Randy, I owe you a piece of that German Green. Guys, make sure you respond to the evite if you are going to make it. The meat will cook for 20 hours, and I brine it for another 8 hrs prior, so it will be hard to just run out and get more last minute. Ken
  19. Just about any of those stores will have some birds nest or caps. I have some ORA green birds nest $10 for a large piece Birds of paradise..$15. Piece of tri-color...free at the BBQ. Large piece-negotiable Can be seen at the BBQ this Saturday at 2PM. (shameless plug). Ken
  20. Come to the club BBQ. I have some nice LPS that I need to get out of the tank to make room for some other corals. Meet the group and do some window shopping at the same time. What are you looking for? Ken
  21. Here are some full tank shots that some of you wanted to see. Come to the BBQ to get a closer look. Ken
  22. Hey Bob, see my post earlier. Come on Bob...GROUP ORDER!! Ken
  23. My tank is 36 wide, so you can see what 1 light with a Lumenbright looks like. Tank is 72 long, so I have three pendants. Two are 250 one is 400. You would want 400 for a 27" deep tank if you want to grow SPS close to the bottom, but you may want to go with 250 so you can grow lower light corals down there. My suggestion would be one Lumenbright large (20") with a selectable ballast. Then you could easily switch from 250 to 400 and back if you wish. Simple...one light, one ballast=cost savings over time. If you would like to come over and see what that would look like you are welcomed. Ken
