  1. havent updated here in a while.... heres what I have to update....... Double tank crash first of july....cooked them...dont ask.....lol Lost everything but a few fish, a couple candies and most zoanthids and the 225 rebuilt with a frag forest...still working on the 90 before its ready for pics....
  2. Looking for a inch or two......... Its the one thing I lost in the crash that I really liked and havent replaced yet. If you are anywhere in the I-5 corridor I will pay whatever you like and have you ship it to me. Fed-ex ground is overnight service to Bend. Thanks and let me know -b others I want crayola plana unnamed pink with green polyps horrida or any cool horrida
  3. Im glad i amuse somebody Many corals are exposed for long periods of time at low tide. I have actually forgot about rics before and left them for hours. they were fine.......ticked off...but fine
  4. im tellin ya try the q-tip, glue, leave on the counter for 15-20 mintues thing with shrooms, xenia and similar. Dont be shy with the q-tips. It will take 4 or 5 q-tips per glue job. Rub it all off. I actually glued a bucnh of rics I got in the mail today, and i assure you that rics and shrooms slime worse and are harder to glue successfully than xenia. Your fingers dont smell nearly as bad though afterwards. to be sure..im not telling you to torture them any more....the skewer thing should work...but for next time......
  5. If every time you feed them...you feed them at noon, they will open for you midday every day so you can see them under the lights in all their glory
  6. you dont need to be shy with how much gliue you use. Just know that wherever the glue touches the coral will burn and kill that spot. If just gluing a small frag i will usually set it in the glob of glue and let it sit on the counter for a few minutes. Until you get a better feel for how to do it this will ensure ti stays put. Jurassic gel by paleo bond is by far the sweetest glue I have used. thicker and stronger than anything else ive seen but whatever you use, just make sure it is gel. Xenia glues fine, just like mushrooms do. You just need to really wipe all the slime off with q-tips so you get the glue to burn and stick into the flesh, and not slime. After gluing mushrooms/rics I will leave them on the counter for 20 minutes. It holds well every time. Its kinda brutal and you need to really wipe the slime off, but it works happy fragging
  7. Make a little rack out of pvc or acrylic and fill it with rocks and macro.....this lives in your fuge......then just take it to the tank and shake it out I dont use refugiums but i saw this idea a while back and liked it
  8. I use a mag 36 with a venturi to stir....i let it bubble and spin for 30 minutes tops, usually more like 15and the important levels are no different than if i waited a day
  9. No thanks. For trades or even partial trades i would be interested in the following: New or slightly used 250w SE 10k reeflux bulbs. I use 10k xm but would like to test drive a couple reeflux. Hammerhead pump in great condition Mag 24 or 36 in great condition Higher end sps corals or just really nice acros
  10. they are a major PITA to get rid of. I just successfully got rid of them by letting the tank crash and all of my montis are dead. LOL How many montis do you have in the tank?? If you have other montis and you noticed damage on the digitata first that is kind of odd. I have witnessed them in several systems and they always seemed to target caps and encrusting montis first. manual removal and my six line did keep them at bay...but i never did get rid of them. they suck
  11. sodium hydroxide mix 2 tsp of NaOH (lye), with 2 tsp Kalkwasser (calcium hydroxide) in 100ml of distilled water. This isnt your typical kalk paste/joes juice concoction. Do not get it on stuff you like.
  12. A full credit card chargeback is at a minimum still ripping off the seller of the shipping charges. Thats not even speaking to the complete lack of communication that would result in doing a CC chargeback in the first place. Ive never had a problem with you Brandon. But if they are all dead, you owe the man a picture and a refund of shipping charges. Keep in mind that MOST individuals do not guarantee live arrival of their corals anyway. The people who practiuce good customer service do, myself included, but many do not. In reading his other feedback i think he is one who would. But you are forcing a arrive alive guarantee policy on him in this instance. I was the first person to stand up for you in that thread on RC as ive never had a problem with you. But.......cant agree with your actions here. I was the first one to alert you about the thread on RC and was the first one to defend you on RC. You had well over a week...maybe two to respond to that thread on RC before you were banned
  13. Envision acrylics tank in great shape 48x24x14. Overbuilt 2x4 stand. Yes, this is the same tank R-3 was selling a while back. In fact...this is even r-3's photo Im borrowing. Both of my displays crashed and my frag tank set up is seriously on the back burner, I need to restock. I just want what i paid for it which i think was a good deal @ $250. I live in Bend but can deliver to Portland area. I can also provide the acrylic needed or repair the holes drilled into the bottom of the tank if you like. I was planning on it.
  14. They usually arent a problem. When the larger ones take up residence in stonies it can irritate them pretty well. I think most people have them...hundreds of them ieven if you start looking around. Most of them are thin and protrude out a ways. Ive only heard of one guy who had a serious problem with the larger ones taking up residence in corals. He had thousands of them though somehow. Glue them shut when you see the ones that are a problem and i think they arent really to be worried about.
  15. Sure it wasnt a vermitid snail?? Ive seen several larger types that dont protrude like the norm........they make holes, burrow and i have found all of them in acros and digitata Super glue covering their hole seemed to work pretty well. I recently heard of a guy who had plague proportions of them and he found some hermits that would eat them. I dont keep crabs so i dont know.
  16. I have chillers. The ambient room temp was over 105 when i got home on Thursday, and had been for 24-48 hours im guessing.
  17. Thanks everyone. It was a pretty hard hit. Both tanks were just starting to become something. bottom line, Dont take anything for granted when you leave and take the time to truly make sure anybody looking over your house understands why everything is how it is
  18. I have to wait another year to post any one year updates....... here is the current status of both tanks :( 2 weeks ago yesterday And the total loss removed Left town for 4 days and didnt cover my bases well enough. Housesitter came by once somehow the air conditioner was turned off.....chillers couldnt handle the 105 degree ambient room temp my 90 was 100 degrees when i got home...the 225 was 94 a small tomini tang was the sole survivor in the 90. In the 225 a chevron, small tomini. clown and his condi, pink spotted watchman were all that survived as well as a couple large candy canes, a couple of gorgs and most of the zoanthids. It will be easy to get rid of my monti eating nudis now though
  19. 46 package------- this tank has been sitting in my garage for a year and a half CPR cs-90 overflow- 4 months use on it. coralife 2 x 96 watt 03 actinic and 10k + lunar lights + 4" lift(4 months use on them) 46 gallon bowfront and black factory stand.....no signifigant scratches and the stand has no damage but could use some touch up paint along the top front edge 15 gallon sump Custom plumbing, flex pvc, ball valves and unions everywhere appropriate Heres links to the lights http://www.marinedepot.com/md_viewIt...roduct=ES53404 http://www.marinedepot.com/md_viewIt...roduct=ES53090 $250 I am in bend. I could meet you in warm springs as i am there often if interested.
  20. LOL Thats funny stuff. Sorry it was at your expense though.
  21. Look, I dont know where i ever said anything that could be interpreted as "discrediting" nor do i know why you feel the need to keep on going with some of the flames reefhut. I dont flame on any boards, but i see it often on boards such as RC, and apparently here at the moment.I make one simple comment that there are more than two reasons that a needlewheel skimmer may be preferred over a beckett and i get this??
