  1. used for 3.5 months Great condition $150
  2. I would actually size the return pump in accordance to your skimmer. No use moving more wter through your sump than your skimmer can process....that way as little unskimmed water makes it back to the tank as possible. Call a couple of your local plumbing supply places.....they should have your flex pipe and your bulkheads. Flexible pvc is white
  3. Thanks....no wonder when i added "fish"to the google search for scutas...it didnt help...lol
  4. I googled "scutas" too...still didnt find anything..... Anybody have a link?? Im curious
  5. Need more info on tank before we can talk about pipe and bulkhead sizes 1. You want a durso standpipe inside your overflow box http://www.rl180reef.com/pages/standpipe/standpipe_frame.htm 2. No ball valve necessary on your drain. You should just be able to shut off your return pump when you want to clean......of course........i cant remember ever having to clean my drain line. You will have to shut off the return pump anyway as if you installed and shut a ball valve on it and DIDNT shut off the return pump.........you would end up with water on the floor 3. You will need bulkheads.......size depends on tank size....you cant get them at HD...i hear Joel has them.....you probably can get them at a plumbing supply place near you too........if not you can order them from savko.com 4. no problems there.. You should always have a ball valve on the return line. What kind of pump are you going to use for the return?? 5. Home depot does sell flexible pvc. I recommend using it everywhere except for where a PERFECTLY straight run is required or for making nipples to connect fittings...in those instances you should use hard pvc. Flex is quieter if it is rubbing on anything and doesnt require precise cuts that some instances with hard pvc can. Grey pvc is typically schedule 80 pipe..it is thicker, it costs more and is unecessary for our applications. Black ABS pipe can have some bad stuff in it i have heard although i have used short runs of it in a pinch without issue. Regular pvc and primer will work great. Silicone without the mold inhibitor. hth
  6. Probably a 10% water change every day or two and skimming really wet couldnt hurt. Maybe even skim so wet that your skimmer does your water changes for you would be a good idea.....not sure if you have the time or set up to deal with that though...
  7. Thats tough. We are talking about recovering stonies i assume?? Algae growing on the skeletons is not helping your cause. I wouldnt run a phosphate remover. Giving recovering stonies a shot of aluminum or iron(whichever you choose) isnt a good thing. Of course i will let you know that after a experience a couple months ago i will never use rowaphos or any phosphate remover again. I wouldnt use the aluminum based before that regardless. Im not sure crabs or fish is going to help...if i had to pick a fish in your circumstances i wouold probably pick a scribbled rabbit as he would be fine in your tank after the fact...that and hes a cool fish Moving them to a clean tank would be my first choice under the conditions...but that may not be afeasible choice. I assume the algae is growing on skeleton next to tissue?? If so...instead of scrubbing with a toothbrush, i would probably take some superglue and cover it up just into the healthy flesh. I think this would be a better option than scrubbing and having it just grow right back........ Probably not much help.......just figured id offer my thoughts.........sorry to hear of your troubles :(
  8. sold..................................
  9. Whats a scuttas?? I googled "scuttas" and if you want a little chuckle.......you should too........ lol
  10. Very cool. This was my first time looking at this thread. Good luck and continued success
  11. Totally depends on the skimmer. I like ASM's and Euroreefs skimmers as they are a set it and forget it type skimmer. The ASM's are a better value IMO, but the ER's are definitely nicer and more conveniont for cleaning. Granted neither isnt going to pull out as much gunk as a beckett driven skimmer, but i would rather get an oversized skimmer for my system that will work well every day without having to mess with them every few days. I would try to put the biggest sump you can underneath and put the biggest skimmer that will fit. An ASM G-3 would do a great job for you on that tank....a g2 would suffice. footprint of the G-3 is 11x 12 i think. You will want a couple of inches to spare in the skimmer section so you can easily take it and the pump out every now and then to clean. You will want the sump designed around the skimmer so that the water level never changes in the skimmer section if you truly want control of your skimmate with any similar in sump skimmer hth
  12. Cool looking little b@stard. Is it just me or does the angle you took that photo at look like a cross between a walrus and a bear??
  13. I dont think the ball markers would work at all.......it is a tiny little plastic peg on the bottom that definitely would not hold a frag in a piece of eggcrate. Ive never tried....but ive used lots of ballmarkers you could break the little peg off the bottom of the ballmarker, take some weld on and bond the ballmarker to the plastic tee though (laugh) sorry .
  14. Ill go polyp for polyp of those for the orange ones.......so 3 polyps....... anything else??....i like the second two you posted too.........you like any of the other ones i posted?? I think my oprange ones are Bam Bams, but to be honest i think the whole zoa name game has gotten kind of silly lately......its like another language sometimes.....lol.......if they are cool........they are cool
  15. Are those frags you pictured available as they sit...or just a few of each?? I dont have any of them so im game to work something out. Im curious what those first ones look like under full lighting...not just actinics...... List how many of each and what you want for them........im easy....if its reasonable...ill take it Why doesnt anyone want my galaxea?? (sad)
  16. Brand new http://www.spectrapure.com/St_quality_p2.htm I bought one directly from spectrapure, it didnt work. I got them on the phone and for some reason the tech guy couldnt tell me to flip modes to get it to work. He sent a new one out and before i got it I figured out how to make the original one work. I just found it in my garage in the box. Since i never sent it back i was billed for it. Can bring to meeting..would like $45 for it. That'll save you ten bucks if you ordered and shipped it.
  17. Im fine with that price....... still want 100
  18. Not really interested in selling the zoas. Just like to get different cool colors via trades. I have a bunch of other neat colors as well, if anyones interested in trading Somebody buy that galaxea for the already good deal it is.........i WILL throw in 5 of those crazy rocket orange ones
  19. Yes. its the only thing in my tanks that requires regular target feeding..........and even as beautiful as it is..........its gotta go.
  20. Just looking for some zoas i dont have.....what have you got?? willing to trade: 10 polyps of these 10 polyps of these 10 of these 10 of these 10 of these ill also trade this for something zoa or sps flavored....the skeleton is the size of a softball.....ill be generous on a trade for it........or simply sell for $35 Ill also sell this for $35, or trade
  21. Personally....i very much prefer the first option here..... if one must happen
  22. Impur.......Id like 100 disks...ceramic preferred i think....but whatever will work fine if thats not a big enough order i understand....... lemmeno
