  4. Like chewie said, they tend to like rocks more...but like most anemones, they will hunt around and move until they find a place they like...
  5. Not to mention the theories that non-ro/di water cause really bad algae...not something worth risking...
  6. Fair enough...Yes I am working on it...It will be entered by the 9th...
  7. Yeah, but I really do not think I can touch Van's work at all... I sense a hint of sarcasm in this...if that is the case...that is fine...but even if I did not enter anything you got two extra amazing entries from people...so my lobbying was worth it...
  8. Sounds good...Please let me know...Thanks.
  9. Is it possible to ship? Let me know I am very interested...
  10. Like I said, any piece of equipment that has an ehiem pump is always a plus...Like I have said before and learned very well, you get what you pay for this hobby for the most part...I would spend the extra money and get the more expensive stuff, geo, PM, etc.
  11. Let me try and dig up the manual that they sent me to where it says I need to submerge it in water...
  12. Now, I am stupid...I had Jason on the phone with me, while I was setting up the CA reactor, and I did everything correct, according to the person who works there and still had issues, stupid? maybe so...Funny thing is that others in this thread have talked about their poor design on their CA reactors, so all who have had problems must be stupid?
  13. yeah, but maybe a tad more of tinting in the tip area, just to bring the red out just a bit more...
  14. I think you should make it red, I think it would make it pop more, you could even add some color to the tips as well, so it is very apparent that they are bubble tips...
  15. Those are great...I do not think I can even touch those... (clap)(clap)
  16. Sorry Ryan, but since you work for the company now...that makes you are a very biased person....your a great and nice guy, but this is biased...you can take a shot at me if you would like (i come to this conclusion, as Joel and I are the only ones who responded, I really doubt you are talking about Joel), but just say my name...not sure how my post is inflammatory, it was my experience w/ their product and it was a bad one, not sure how that is considered flaming? Especially when Joel who sells their products claims their CA reactor design is poor, so I am not just the lone wolf here ...I had an Octopus skimmer and it worked very well...but their CA reactor design is stupid...submerging the entire thing in water and letting it run? That is stupid and a PIA every time you need to add media...I will only buy CA reactors that use ehiem pumps, because of my experience with a PCI reactor. I spoke with Jason (super nice guy and very helpful) when I was having my problems with the ca reactor, he is the one who gave me the ok to bring it back after the second pump over heated and broke...I also have a PCI chiller, that I really like...this is not a bash on PCI as a company, just their pumps on the CA reactors
  17. I watched it the other night...well not watched, I had it on the TV and listened to it, as I did some stuff around the house...It was very interesting and surprisingly unbiased for CNN...I really thought it was going to be very liberal, but I am an open minded person and am always down to hear the other side (and with some liberal mind sets :-) , not to many though)... so I figured I would watch it...they talked about some interesting stuff in all sorts of areas, not just global warming/climate change...they talked about animal loss, deforestation, over population, etc. So I think it is a great thing for people to just watch...
  18. In beaverton, I get less then 20 on the tds...
  19. octopus pumps on PCI CA reactors, suck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You have to submerge the whole thing in water and let it run and get all the air out and even then that does not work! worst design ever! Sorry to be the bearer of bad news...I went through two pumps with them and then finally took the reactor back, because it would not work at all!!!!!!!
  20. I would for sure scrap and sand the old paint off... as for paint, if you look at my old build thread, it was outdoor paint for houses and I also sealed it with a sealer, that they tend to use in bathrooms in homes, just in case water gets on it...I have spilled and dripped plenty of water on my stand it is has had no issues...
  21. Sol, is working on the stand, once that is done, I need to get the light fixture made and then I will get the tank set up, since I have the rock already and the water from the main tank, there will be no cycle :-)
  22. Looks great...that must be the flame angle from Upscales.... by the way you have a PM....
